Absolutely spectacular staff - incredibly helpful and friendly, from welcoming you at the door, giving you leaflets about York and tips on where to go, to helping with a suitcase up the stairs. The stay was very comfortable and pleasant, the room was simple but functional - enough space for luggage and a few things on the desk, surprisingly comfortable bed, and a bathroom. I mostly stayed just for the nights as I was away for the days, the area was fairly quiet, and made for good sleep. The city center is just about 15 minute walk (or 25 if you are me and walk slow and take pictures of everything) and there is a Sainsburys not too far. The building also has a full kitchen that guests can use.
I don't think there is anything specific to point out - the only thing that might be improved would potentially be some storage under the bed for longer stays.

Brilliant stay at the Vikings Accommodation, the host was absolutely spot on and made sure we had everything and more during our stay.

Room is good value for money in a good location only a 15 minute walk into to town. Room was very clean and a good size for a single room, the room also included a fan which was needed during these heatwave. Tea and coffee making facilities and a smart TV.
There was a creeky floorboard in the room, the tap pressure was very weak, the toilet seat was loose and the shower door didn't close completely. I wouldn't recommend this accommodation to anyone who is a light sleeper the blinds don't completely block out the light and the walls are very thin so you can hear people coming and going and when people have showers. I was very unlucky with my fellow guests who decided to keep the night going drinking and talking loudly in the shared kitchen until gone 1 AM
