FOCUS ON SERVICE AND CLEANLINESS IN PROTARAS

Extremely comfortable stay off season in Protaras. Large room, fantastic bathroom and big bed, well furnished and very clean. Everything looked in great state and the location enabled several excursions around this bay. Breakfast was also sizeable, and fresh. Kudos to all the staff for making us feel well looked after, especially to Prabhat, in Front Desk, for going way beyond his duties to try and find us a dining option outside the hotel (we did not feel like pizza or pasta in Cyprus, and most restaurants in the area were closed). His recommendation for a Lebanese restaurant in Ayia Napa was really excellent. Although the hotel was quiet, the staff provided top service. Bravo!

Perfect Christmas break in a good location

The location is perfect. It is at the end of the main strip. Convenient walking distance to shops and a 2 minute walk to Fig Tree Bay. Breakfast gave a good choice of cereals, porridge, toast, cooked items, pastries, cold plates and fruit. Andreea was great at breakfast service. Evening meal got better as the days went on especially when it was buffet. The rooms are a good size, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Towels changed daily and bedding every few days. All staff were friendly and helpful. The bus stop is just outside. In summer, you wouldn't need a hire car.

Dessert for the evening meal was repetitive for the first few days and was just apples. After that dessert was a little unimaginative. Although quiet during our winter stay, it will be noisy in summer if you have a road facing room.

Very pleasant hotel, staff are a credit, I would recommend staying, and I would stay again.

Staff were very friendly and professional, requests were dealt with quickly without fuss. The hotel was clean and location was good, a little far down the strip but within walking distance of town.

Breakfast on the first day was initially served cold but was quickly resolved by staff and apologies given. Some facilities were closed, but given it was out of season and they were being end of season serviced, was acceptable.

Home away from home kind of place

I loved everything about it- friendly and very serviceminded staff , good breakfast , clean spacious room, great pool area with a little bar open from 9-18 where you could sit and have tea and lunch or have a drink, crystal clear pool water , comfortable and clean lounging chairs around the pool, excellent location on the “quieter side” of Protaras town center , grocery store right across the street, 4 min walk to the beach. Air temp 24-28 degrees in the middle of october , sea temp 24 degrees 😚

Second stay

This was our second stay at the hotel, primarily chosen for its excellent location—just a short walk from Fig Tree Beach, which is a major highlight. The reception staff stood out for their friendliness and helpful attitude, making check-in and general inquiries smooth and pleasant.

While the room (124) was generally satisfactory, there were noticeable details that could benefit from more attentive maintenance (balcony). Cleanliness also left room for improvement. Additionally, the breakfast selection leaned heavily toward English-style options and would be more appealing with greater variety.

Great breakfast and location.

Breakfast and breakfast staff were amazing. Particularly Andreaa who acknowledged all guests and made you feel looked after. Location was amazing, so close to beach, supermarket and restaurants.

The room didn’t give off a vibe that it was super clean. Not enough hooks in bathroom to hang up towels(which were ridiculously small!). No iron or ironing board in the room. When asked reception, they advised there is only 1 iron in the whole hotel that all guests have to share and no ironing board at all! Not enough lighting in bathroom. Not enough drawers for clothing in rooms that accommodate more than 2 people. No lift in part of the hotel so have to carry suitcases up 2 flights of stairs.

Not worth the money

The location of the hotel is right in center, near supermarkets , restaurants . The room we were given was spacious and clean the bed and pillows so comfortable.

Breakfast was awful …uncooked bacon and sausages, rubber eggs,powdered fruit juice, plastic cheese, scrambled egg had to have milk added every ten mins as was turning solid. The only good thing was the fruit…

Excellent stay in an active area near an amazing beach.

Super location on a busy and active street with restaurants, supermarkets, and shops. Literally 2 minutes walk to the Fig Tree beach which is one of the best beaches in the area. The area itself and the beach in Protaras were much better than Nissi beach and Ayia Napa. Moreover, receptionist Eva was very friendly and helpful. Bus stop was directly infront of hotel, connecting to Ayia Napa and other locations nonstop all day and night. Room was modern, clean, comfortable beds, and balcony to the main street was very nice! Breakfast was good. In general, the hotel deserves 4-stars instead of 3-stars.

Highly recommended Protaras Plaza Hotel

We spent 8 nights at Protaras Plaza Hotel and had an amazing experience throughout our stay. The hotel is in a perfect location, just steps from the beach, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beautiful coastline. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were consistently friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The food was always fresh and delicious — especially the desserts, which were great! A very special thank you to Andreea, the restaurant manager, whose kindness and dedication stood out every day. She made sure everything ran smoothly and always greeted us with a smile. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely come back!

We had a good time, but at this price point, we expected much more.

The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming—always smiling and truly service-oriented. It genuinely felt like they put their heart into what they do. The location was excellent, just a one-minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. It was also very close to great restaurants and all the central attractions. The pool was large, beautiful, and had plenty of space and shade. Breakfast was plentiful and generally good, though we would have appreciated a bit more variety.

Unfortunately, we happened to stay during a weekend with a local holiday celebration. About 200 meters from our room, there were concerts for two consecutive nights, drawing thousands of people from across Cyprus. While this isn’t the hotel's fault, we believe it would have been appropriate for them to notify us in advance. We had booked this specific room because it was advertised as family-friendly (we were a couple with a baby just a few months old), and all the reviews mentioned how quiet it was despite being close to everything. That was the main reason we chose it. Sadly, it was completely unsuitable for a family with a baby who couldn’t sleep through the loud music and crowds that lasted until the early hours. We asked to move to a quieter room, but nothing was available. The hotel did offer us the option to check out and get a refund for the remaining nights, but with a small baby and all nearby hotels fully booked due to the holiday, this simply wasn’t realistic. We expected a bit more empathy from the hotel and perhaps some small gesture of compensation for the inconvenience, but we received nothing. Additionally, we returned home with strange bites on our arms, legs, and back—not from mosquitoes—and we’re still unsure what caused them. The sofa in the living room was half-broken and unusable. The fridge was extremely small—barely big enough to fit a bottle of wine. The bathroom sink was also very small and not practical.

Good location. Helpful staff. Room clean and we had a beautiful view of Fig tree bay. Bus stop right outside.

Beware there is a roof top lounge and bar and the loud music goes on till 1.30am. This kept us awake. Luckily we only stayed one night.

The location was very good. The nearest beach, Fig Tree bay, is a 3 minute walk, just around the corner of the hotel. The breakfast was good, not amazing but all basic were offered. The room was spacious and very clean.

I was disappointed that the indoor pool was not in operation. I was told that it was closed, which was a shame as it was a positive feature when booking.
