The Residence by the Beach House Marbella

Stunning interior design at The Residence. Rooms spacious and clean, with the most comfortable beds. House Keeper is incredible and checks on you daily asking if you have any requirements. Cookies were left outside the room and coffee pods given on arrival with bowl of fruit. Exceptional service from staff (particular if at the Beach House and they know you are in The Residence). No need to book at the restaurant, they will always squeeze you in. So quiet at the pool despite the joy happening at the Beach House, so you can always hide away if you fancy some calm.

Car park gets massively busy due to popularity of Beach House. On arrival we had a hire car and luckily mounted a curb!

Room service was a bit hit and miss if the staff were incredibly busy . Depends on the season I guess .

This is the third time we've stayed, but we've been visiting the Beach House for many many years. The rooms are nice and comfortable, but I thought the room needed a little paint refresh. There's now snacks and a mini bar fridge in the room (all chargeable), which was a nice touch. The breakfasts are always good and the service is exceptional. The housekeeper is brilliant, the rooms and communal area always spotlessly clean.

Having said all the good stuff, I'm not sure if we'll return to stay. A couple of years ago, the policy changed so beds on the beach are chargeable. As a guest, there are no discounted rates, so there's no incentive to actually stay there during the day. We ventured out out and went to other, equally good, beach clubs. We had friends stay at the Beach House too, on their last day, having paid for the beds at the Beach House, was told they hadn't met the minimum daily spend... they were leaving early afternoon to head to the airport. Just didn't sit right.. On our first day we asked if we could have a couple of beds for an hour, it was late afternoon once we'd checked in and unpacked. Again, told the beds were chargeable. However, we headed to the beach and was given a couple of beds at no cost. There were many available beds. Again, just didn't sit right. I think for the price, there are other hotel options, where access to the pool or beach is all covered in the price. The Beach House does have a lovely pool area for quests to use, but it's really quiet and there's no service and no atmosphere. To be honest its just a bit boring sitting by the pool...
