"The Terrace on Galli Tassi" is situated within the walls of Lucca’s historical centre, in a quiet area yet steps away from one of Lucca's main streets Via San Paolino. This spacious third-floor apartment (there is no lift) boasts an EXCLUSIVE COVERED TERRACE overlooking Lucca’s famous rooftops and it's distant mountains. To be enjoyed come rain or shine, the roofed terrace provides the perfect retreat & the privacy to enjoy your morning coffee, eat lunch or dinner with family and friends, or relax with a glass of wine or chilled Prosecco after a day of exploring.
ABOUT THE SPACE:
**APARTMENT ACCESSIBILITY:
Please note that this apartment is located on the 3rd floor (70 steps) of a historic building with no elevators which is typical in the historic centre.
* All windows in the apartment have been installed with MOSQUITO SCREENS, including a screened door to the terrace.
*The apartment has a large OPEN-PLAN LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM area with double sleeper sofa, TV & dining table.
*The living space leads directly onto the LARGE PRIVATE COVERED TERRACE on the same level through chestnut French doors, which makes for practical access for all your guests. (No need to access through a bedroom or climb more stairs!).
*A CHARMING KITCHEN which is well equipped with everything you need to cook a meal. It has an apartment sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, electric kettle, American-style drip coffee machine, & an Italian Moka.
*TWO BEDROOMS:
ONE MASTER BEDROOM with a queen size bed and beautiful views from the windows. The master bedroom has the option of a travel crib for an infant.
ONE GUEST BEDROOM with a queen size bed & views of the street below.
*Both Bedrooms have AIR CONDITIONING and include adequate wardrobe storage.
*ONE BATHROOM newly renovated with bathtub shower combo, bidet & toilet and a separated "anti-bagno" with double vanity area.
*There is FREE WIFI and TIM television.
*There is also a private WASHING MACHINE and extra bar fridge located on the terrace.
GUEST INTERACTION:
*There is minimal guest interaction. Our property manager, FABRIZIO, will meet you on arrival to assist you to settle in, thereafter he is available via cell phone for urgent questions and emergencies.
*We provide an information book with local information, taxi contacts & other suggestions. The Lucca tourist office is available down the road for all your tour and local information requirements.
*We regret we DO NOT HAVE LUGGAGE STORAGE. There is a luggage deposit service available at the Tourist Centre Lucca in the building on the right of the train station in PIAZZALE RICASOLI
*The historic centre of Lucca is a limited traffic zone (ZTL). Only residents are allowed to access this area. All four wheel vehicles must obtain authorisation, motorcycles and scooters can enter without any problem. Taxis are permitted. Please take note of the closest parking available in the description of the property.
PARKING:
Inside the walls: The closest parking area to the apartment inside the walls is in PIAZZALE GIUSEPPE VERDI (coins only) or VIA DEL PALLONE (credit cards or coins) in the blue designated spaces. The rate is €1.50 per hour, charged from 8am to 8pm, so you will need to pay for a new ticket before 8am the following day. Parking is also available at PARCHEGGIO CITTADELLA (credit, debit cards, coins) on VIA DELLA CITTADELLA. All these parking areas are 2 mins away from the apartment.
Outside the walls: The closest parking to the apartment outside the walls is PARCHEGGIO PALATUCCI (coins only) the rate is €1 per hour, max €6 a day. A 6 min walk to the apartment.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:
Although the apartment is located on a quiet street, there is a lot of activity right around the corner. Within a few steps you are on one of the main streets, via San Paolino, where you can easily find great restaurants, grocery stores, enjoy some gelato or a glass of wine. The apartment is only a couple of minute’s walk to Piazza San Michele and the famous shopping street of via Fillungo.
GETTING AROUND:
The historic centre of Lucca is easily & best explored by foot. Bicycle rentals are available almost everywhere within the walls, and are also an excellent way to explore the city centre and it's surrounding wall.
Piazza Verdi is conveniently located just a short walk away from the apartment, from here you can catch buses directly to other destinations in Tuscany. Piazza Verdi also has the closest pay by the hour parking. The train station is situated a short 10 minute walk straight out of the south entrance of the historical centre.
