Villa De' Maestri - Historic Centre - Prestigious Attic with a Brand New Elevator!

When I originally booked the villa I wasn’t even thinking about heat but when we arrived last week to a very hot (but beautiful Lucca) I was incredibly happy to find that Villa de Maestri has top of the range air con . Each room has its own controller . It was fabulous to Have this and all the shutters are closed with a controller . 21 st century magic in a beautiful 15th century building !! Nico and Fabio were lovely people and Nico gave us all the information and recommendations that we needed for enjoying the beauty of Lucca. One of the reasons we booked the villa was the 3 bedrooms but the best bit was the terrace . To Have a big terrace within the walls was fantastic. We had our breakfast there every morning and sat out under the jasmine and fairy lights for a glass of wine each night when home from dinner . Heaven 🥰 and of course the elevator was super too ,

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The villa is absolutely beautiful, full of character, history, and charm, yet equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The photographs are excellent, but the property is even more impressive in person. The location is ideal for exploring Lucca and the surrounding area while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Every detail of the apartment was thoughtfully prepared, and it was clear that great care has gone into maintaining both the property and the guest experience. What truly made our stay exceptional were the people. Nico’s communication was outstanding before and throughout our visit. He was always available when needed, provided excellent local recommendations, and went above and beyond to help with arrangements and logistics. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made a wonderful stay even better. A special thank you also to Fabio, whose warmth, friendliness, and contribution to our stay added a personal touch that we will remember fondly. After travelling through several locations in Italy, Villa De’ Maestri was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a place with soul, beauty, and warmth, created not only by the property itself but also by the wonderful people behind it. Thank you, Nico and Fabio, for helping create such a memorable experience. We would happily return and highly recommend Villa De’ Maestri to anyone visiting Lucca. 10/10 – Exceptional.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The apartment was very clean and the cleaner was very nice and helpful with our luggage

The access. Entrance in the middle of a long flight of stairs and is impossible with luggage if you are older or had mobility issues. The public lift closes early evening so more flights of steps from the town and one day was also out of service. The shutters are extremely difficult to open and had to leave closed but maked the room dark. Balcony doors don’t open and nowhere to sit outside. One window wouldn’t close. The apartment needs maintenance. Sitting room gloomy inadequate lighting , can’t raise the shutters,picture on floor instead of being re-hung.
