Quirky apartment in a great location 🤪

Quirky apartment in a great location. Great shower! Perfect place for a one night stay in Lucca. Lots of stairs to reach the apartment which was fine for us as we didn't have luggage.

The bathroom and the fridge in the apartment were exceptionally clean. My opinion would be that the rest of the apartment could do with a deep clean.

Beautiful apartment right in the centre of the walled area. The location was excellent and it was lovely and quiet. The apartment has lots of space.

It suited our needs perfectly. The views are fantastic, the property had everything you’d need. It was very comfortable and well located. Prompt communications and easy check in.

Good VFM, consider accessibility carefully

A well appointed modernised apartment with everything available and on hand to ensure a comfortable overnight stay.

It’s not we didn’t like it as the clue us in the apartment name, loft, so you are rewarded with rooftop views and we choose to stay knowing this however….there is a very steep climb of stairs, 3 floors, to the top. We are fit 60yr olds and carried our 20kg suitcases to the top and back down again! So please bear this in mind before booking if you have any mobility issues

Fabulous views, poor accommodation

Location was good and the area was quiet with good amenities close by. The view from the large windows overlooking Lucca were exceptional and the best part of the accommodation.

Photographs of the apartment are obviously several years old as property/furniture etc. in need of decoration/replacement. Very tired furniture and lots of scuffed walls. Bathroom had mould around the shower cubicle, which also leaked badly and mildew on the curtains. Water pressure in bathroom almost non existent, very poor shower. Kitchen was very basic, no kettle and some of the kitchen utensils were dirty. Had to boil pans of water to make coffee. Attic apartment so (as mentioned) lots of stairs, not recommended for anybody with walking/health conditions. Stairs leading up to mezzanine bedroom are particularly steep and very dangerous for young children.

Great views and cosy apartment

Great functional apartment with beautiful views and large windows.

The apartment was located on the third floor with no lift which makes it difficult for people with large luggages or for people with issues climbing stairs. There was an odd musty smell in the apartment. Although the apartment sleeps up to 4 people, the downstairs space was not large enough, especially if you plan on eating in. Ok if only staying one night. Also, if you have a car, you can't drive to the property due to certain areas within the city where the traffic is restricted (ZTL).

Spacious and comfortable apartment in a perfect location

Its a lovely, light and spacious apartment with beautiful windows overlooking the rooftops. Comfortable bed on a mezzanine level. Good facilities for a short stay (sofa, tv, cooking facilities and even a dining table and chairs stowed away). From previous comments I was a bit worried about lack of aircon and the state of the bathroom, but the aircon was working well in all of the apartment (as of August 2024) and provided welcome relief when coming in from the heat. The bathroom still seems to have a bit of an issue with leakage from the shower, but not that it affected our stay- more an issue for the owners as the floor gets water damaged over time.

Only minor things but explained below: The water leakage mentioned above. Shower doors are probably not fitting properly. The owner didn't respond initially to my message sent same morning asking about how we check in. I tried to then message on WhatsApp later and got instant reply. Would be helpful if the instructions were mentioned in the listing (ie its self check in via lockbox key- would prevent any confusion, or in my case, anxiety about having to bring all our luggage from the car 15 mins walk away and not knowing if we were being met on time). The stairs. Oh my god. We knew, but nothing can prepare you for that after carrying backpacks in afternoon heat for 20 mins! The stairs seemed to get steeper the higher you go and I am only five foot so it was a struggle! It would not put me off going back but be warned. And definitely not advisable for anyone with even the slightest of mobility issues.

air conditioning might have been improved - it was either too cold or too stuffy. lots of stairs - hard to climb for my older parents. only one towel despite the apartment was booked for 3 people. no wine glasses!

A good base both for Lucca and it's facilities and the train station is not too far away

Great view as we were above most rooftops. There were 60+ steps to get to the accommodation, but that added to it's character

Very good

Lovely and cosy apartment in the center of beautiful Luca. This is a great spot for a short stay. When you walk out of the street, you are directly on lively streets of the inner city. That also means that all facilities you would need (supermarket, restaurants, bars etc.) are right around the corner.

Everything was very OK, but some things are worth noting (even though they come with this being an apartment in an old building in an old city and were of course known to us before-hand). 1) Parking is not around the corner. There is plenty of parking available not too far away, but it requires some walking. Will be the case for most apartments inside of the walls of Luca, since the inner city is almost completely limited to only residential traffic. 2) Stairs! Lots of them to reach the apartment. Not a problem for us, but something to be aware of. For us it added to the charm and authenticity of the apartment.

Perfect apartment in Lucca

Historic apartment with beautiful view on Lucca. Everything was clean. Apartment has kitchen with all equipment. Bathroom was above average. Double aircon works perfect. Owner let us accomodate a bit sooner as the room was ready. Communication with owner was understandable. We had a lovely stay and I can recommend this apartment to young couples as it is very romantic.

Due to smell of city water, i was not sure if the water in Lucca is drinkable or not. Some old locals made fun of us in front of the entrance to the apartment and made us feel unwelcomed in Lucca but that is not a disadvantage of this awesome apartment but of a locals, city and its mayor as a whole. If you have small kids or 30kg bags, do not book this historic apartment due to stairs.

House has a nice view over the rooftops of Lucca's old town. Although in the section of disabled people it refers to the stairs that lead to the bedroom (the bed is really comfy btw) it says nothing about the 5 floors you have to climb up without an elevator. Room had no coffee, but lot of sugar, no toilet paper, the handcleaning dispenser had water with a bit of soap inside, the room not adequately clean. Very dirty spots. Little cockroaches also. Moreover the WiFi wasn't working properly, poping you out every few minutes. If you wake up from light at 6 you re up at June, plus it seems really got. It has something like an air conditioning which is very noisy to stand it. Above all we had asked the owner via email to check in at 12-1 instead of 3, which was answered "I think you can". Having a small kid it was very inconvenient to find out that without notice at 1 the room was not ready and the apt would be ready at 3, which means strolling around for 2 hours. I guess because Lucca is so amazing we would come again in the town.

Apartment with a view

Location was excellent. Also the view from the apartment was amazing.

The apartment is quite warm due to the big windows and thus you have to keep the windows open. But since there are no mosquito nets you get some of the in the night. Got dozen of bites and did not sleep too well because of the mosquitos. Missing a microwave and water heater. Also the coffee maker was leaking. No information book either. Only one set of keys and you need them to get out of the building. Which is actually very dangerous in case of fire.

Good size place to spread around in. Great roof top view from large window. Separate bedroom and sitting area. Was able to contact host easily and he responded very quickly to our requests.

Had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to apartment which is ok for every day use but it was a struggle to bring up 2 large suitcases. Great for younger people but not for older people or anyone with a disability. There was no info on the sights and places to see in Lucca or recommended restaurants/bars/supermarkets in the local area or how to use the facilities inside eg cooling. This can be easily sorted by the host.There was a problem with shower hot water however the host had this fixed within a few hours.

Gorgeous views out of the big open window.

Only really niggle was that we arrived early and even though we asked, we weren’t able to leave our luggage. It was far too hot to take luggage with us and we just wanted to leave it somewhere secure even if the room wasn’t ready. Eventually a resident allowed us to leave our cases in the hallway which meant we could go for a wander, which was all we really wanted. The apartment itself is lovely and in a generally good location. If you aren’t very fit/strong then bear in mind there is a series of very steep steps to get to the top and there will likely be no one to help you.

Great location in the city center, quiet yet walking distance to the main square and to the affordable car park just outside the city walls. Beautiful view.

The apartment feels a bit worn out in some places. You cannot take a shower without soaking the bathroom floor. Also supplies were rather low, e.g. just 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 kitchen towel, no dishwashing soap. Finally, the bathroom curtain is pretty see-through. I didn't feel comfortable taking a shower at night.

Beautiful loft in Lucca.

We booked this place on a whim, in order to have a day to unwind from our week long travel. Great view to the city and very cozy place. We were able to relax and recover from weariness. Thank you Filipo.

Amazing views on the rooftops of Lucca

The view from the window is amazing!!! The owner really did a lot to think over the small details as rectractable tables, lightning, etc. We enjoyed every moment of our short stay and it was highly unfortunate that we couldn't spend more time in this lovely place. Definitely, will come again!!!!

The only suggestion (that didn't influence our review) - a small coffee pot to make coffee on the place would be a good improvement for the future. Keep on the good work!
