Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakaiza Shijo Kawaramachi

The room was more spacious and beds were larger. Loved having the washer/dryer in the room. Quality products to use and loved the FeHa shower head, blow dryer and hair straightener. Location is perfect for travel. Bonus was accessing my Netflix account to watch English TV. Staff was helpful and allowed us to keep bags for a while after check out as we finished our exploring in Kyoto. Highly highly recommend to anyone.

What a fabulous hotel in a fantastic location - right above the Nishiki Markets in Kyoto. This hotel was so comfortable. The staff were so friendly, the view was incredible, location was perfect and hotel room was a great size for two (we booked a twin share room). If you love to shop - you are surrounded by shops. The hotel was spotless too. There was an entrance to the station about 100 metres away. Everything was extremely convenient. We discovered little laneways with bars and restaurants right behind the hotel. So much fun staying here.

Great location if you want to be in the middle of all the action of the area. Lots of shopping and sight seeing to be done within close distance. In room washing machine is extremely convenient. Good selection of self-service amenities.

Our initial room had a terrible musty smell due to an issue with the in room washing machine or plumbing and as an asthmatic I had a very bad time the first night as they said it was too late for them to arrange another room for us. We tried to resolve the issue ourselves by running the air purifier and air conditioning and purchased a carbon filter to try and reduce the smell, but nothing worked and we both woke up feeling very unwell. Bedding was very hot and scratchy, had to have the air conditioning quite low to be comfortable, this isn’t exactly uncommon though.
