Hotel literally is across the street from the Galataport cruise terminal, making it enormously convenient for anyone - like us - passing through Istanbul to catch a cruise. Also great: The tram that takes you across the river to the old city (Sultanhamet) conveniently passes right in front of the hotel. If you get a street-side room as we did, you will hear a bit of clatter but it is not awful. Breakfast is good but pricey and heavy on cheese and dairy products. We were happy with the unlimited supply of cimi (Turkish-style bagels that are better than most bagels). But lactose-intolerant folks might find the breakfast spread to be limiting.

The room was rudimentary but spacious and clean. Unfortunately, it also smelled of sewer gas that never entirely dissipated.

For a 4 star hotel and the price paid we were expecting a lot more. The family room (4 people) was really dark. The bathroom showed signs of wear and tear. But the worst part was the breakfast, while there were enough options the quality was bad.
