Alnwick Malthouse

Very nice flat with all you need to self cater. Morrisons is opposite for easy shopping.Loved the balcony for morning coffee etc. it gets all the afternoon sun. Good location for trips out to coast etc. Within walking distance to town centre, castle and gardens.

The sofa was not very comfortable. The window in the second bedroom looked out onto the corridor within the building and didn’t open. Instead there were air vents. Noise from other doors banging carried into the room. Not an issue if you are an early riser.

We stayed in flat 15 which is on the second level but there is a lift. The flat is modern standard, good quality finish, clean, fully equipped and with a dedicated car parking space. Excellent location with easy access to Alnwick town centre, it is possible to walk to an Alnwick Castle entrance which is down hill (but you will have to walk up hill again), otherwise the car park is only 5 - 10 minutes drive. Lots of places to visit nearby via very scenic countryside, the furthest we travelled to was Bamburgh Castle which is less than 30 minutes drive including taking in the scenery.

We were delighted to find that the accommodation was modern in design and finished to a high specification. The art work on the walls was personal to the original Alnwick Malthouse building. The hosts had obviously thought of everything in terms of providing a home away from home. Dedicated parking was on site and the supermarket was across the road, which also helped. Thank you!

The entry from the car park in to the flats is by key code. The instructions weren't that clear to begin with. The flat keys included a key for the outer door. However, we were advised to still use the key code on the outer door which was a bit confusing.

Location. Nice modern apartment.

For my purposes having a disability the furniture in lounge was far too low and I needed assistance to get up. Also could not get into shower as there were no hand rails and could not get into bath without assistance.
