Ortigia Boutique Terrace apt

L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter Syracuse, tout est facilement accessible à pied. Le quartier est très agréable, à la fois vivant et tranquille, et il est facile de se garer gratuitement à proximité. L’appartement est spacieux, bien agencé et la grande terrasse est un vrai plus pour profiter des soirées. Nous avons passé un très bon moment.

Petit bémol : nous n’avions accès qu’à une seule salle de bain sur les deux prévues, ce qui était pourtant un critère important pour nous puisque nous voyagions à six. Les équipements sont un peu vétustes et limités. Dommage aussi que la cafetière utilise des capsules introuvables — même après avoir fait deux grandes surfaces et deux boutiques de café.

Soggiorno perfetto! La posizione è comodissima, a due passi da Ortigia e a piedi si raggiunge anche il Teatro Greco. L’appartamento era pulitissimo e accogliente. Il terrazzo con vista mare è un vero gioiello, ideale per rilassarsi. Dotato di tutto il necessario, letti comodi. Personale gentile e disponibile. Super consigliato!

The location was fantastic. Just outside of Ortigia but a 5 min walk onto the island past plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes & gelateria and similarly a 5 min walk to the Corso Gelone Main Street in Siracusa and the train station & bus station. The property itself had a spacious roof terrace allowing meals to be eaten outside. The lounge was spacious, kitchen fine, 3 double (2 x triple) bedrooms & 3 toilets (though 1 wasn’t really fit for for purpose) The owners were very quick to respond to any issues raised Around the corner from the flat there is a very regular bus service to Ortigia, to the sites in Siracusa, the local beaches in Arenella & Fontane Bianchi and to the wider east coast towns of Sicily like Catania, Noto, Taormina that are all worth visiting. I’d recommend Pablo on Corso Umberto for food & cocktails but I’d avoid FOC on Bia Montedoro. There are quite a few great places on Corso Umberto towards Ortigia but near the flat for inexpensive street food Ortigia itself is like an open air restaurant - one in particular - Trattoria Archimede - just off Via Cavour & near the Fontana di Diana at Piazza Archimede - go there & ask for a tour of the restaurant from Giovanni - some parts of the restaurant (possibly him included) have been there for 800 hundred years & the food is terrific too.

There was only a single couch to lie on to sunbathe on the terrace. There are photos of other loungers on the webpages and their omission was really disappointing. One of the advantages of a roof terrace should be the ability for the group to relax & sunbathe together - the owners suggested we all use the single lounger 🤷🏻‍♂️ which entirely missed the point. We bought a couple of loungers at the local Decò & left them over there with family who live in the city. One of the toilets / shower rooms was really smelly & needed a complete upgrade so we didn’t use it. There are 2 other bathrooms (one with a shower) so we used them instead. The flat is on the top floor of the block and the lift seemed quite temperamental so beware! Thankfully no issues when we wee moving suitcases up and down! The apartment itself was nearly excellent - location great, plenty of space, towels, bedding etc but little things like no sun loungers, no toaster seemed oddly missing from this rental.

Good location and view. Also amount of rooms.

Foul smell in a bathroom. The apartment has much potential but it’s not showed the love. Terrace could have been more clean with nicer furniture. The staircase was pretty rough. The building could use some renovation.
