Great room and friendly staff; location might not suit everyone

The location was quiet and had nice surroundings with views over rice fields from the balcony. Mini mart right next door and laundry place a 5min walk down the road 🛌 the bed was ginormous and very comfy, with big and little pillows so I could pick and choose what to use to suit my neck 🤪 🚿 Bathroom: lots of space and storage, with a massive walk in shower and separate bath next to it. Some questionably smelling dispensers in the shower which I stayed away from after one use. No other toiletries 🧼 Amenities: Fridge, hairdryer and hot drink making station in the room, daily room service (if you wanted it), 2 bottles of water replenished daily, decent WiFi and enough hangers. The safe was locked shut so I didn’t use it 🔐 the restaurant is only open for breakfast, not lunch or dinner (a bit misleading on booking.com). 🍳 Breakfast: This was included and was decent - you had to put your order in the night before with reception but I really enjoyed the fruit plate and fried rice 🛗 Lift: ❌ the staff were happy to bring luggage to the room 🪭 Aircon: ✅ I liked the hotel itself and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

📍 Location: It was a 15-30min (traffic dependent) taxi into Ubud centre so a bit further away than I’d realised and not overly ideal. The road also didn’t feel safe to walk on as there’s no footpath either side and the traffic is quite chaotic with all the mopeds whizzing by. think I’d pick closer to Ubud centre if I came back to the area. 🐓 free 5.30am alarm clock everyday with the rooster at the neighbouring property - earbuds essential! 🏊‍♀️ The pool had definitely benefited from some photoshop online as it looked quite different in person. I was out most days on excursions so didn’t sunbathe although the loungers were all covered by tree foliage so it’s not a great pool for working on the tan!

Beautiful Stay in Ubud

The room was so spacious and I especially loved the balcony from my room! The staff immediately upon arrival were very kind, and accommodating. While it’s a little bit away from the centre I personally really enjoyed it as I wanted to have a more quiet space. Getting grabs there is super convenient and that’s the best way to travel around Ubud. They have a nice little pool area as well to lounge around in which is nice since the beaches aren’t close in Ubud. Overall really loved my stay, definitely worth it for the price paid and would definitely come back (: Thank you to the staff and their warm welcome for being a highlight of my trip

The breakfast given had smaller portions, if you’re someone like me who gets hungry in the morning I would recommend going to one of the many brunch spots that are up the road.

The view ‘over rice fields’ was one small rice field bordered by a road and another building on 2 sides. The restaurant wasn’t serving evening meals and breakfast had to be pre-booked (which I wasn’t told on arrival). This new property has some teething problems to sort out. Be aware there are 2 Bumi Muwas. I was dropped off at the old one first. It then took 55 minutes in traffic to get to the new one (at the end of a long day!).

Excellent quality place to stay in Bali ubud

The place is very near to the rice terrace and is quiet and comfortable for an area further away from main central

Facilities and service provided are overall good and sufficient. Just to point out that the charging portal on one side of the bed is kind of flipping out (coming off) but doesn't affect charging. It can be improved

I do not recommend it

The only positive is the staff

The only reason why I’m rating it 6 is thanks to the lovely staff. Otherwise the score would be much lower. Although we picked the Deluxe Double room with Balcony we were put in the Deluxe Double Rooms. I saw after that there’s in small letters that you will either get the ones with balcony or terrace depending on availability. I find it very scammy to advertise the rooms in a way and expect something but you will get what they want anyway. We got the rooms with terrace on ground floor which both smelled damp and musty as soon as we entered in the rooms. You can see mould in the bathroom, in my room the sink drain was barely working, the towels were dirty, especially the one you use as a mat when you walk out of the shower. Visible stains on the sheets and pillow sheets. Breakfast was ok, however the trays on which they brought the breakfast to our rooms were very dirty. I don’t usually complain but there were too many negatives to ignore. The hotel owner needs to invest back into the hotel if they want to be a viable business, especially with how competitive Bali is.

Wonderful family feeling from staff, thanks for an amazing stay

The staff were amazing, very polite, welcoming like family. Nothing was a bother and they met all our needs. Breakfast was beautiful. Cheeky monkey across the road for children was a must.

Steps on the landing were a little hazardous, tripped a few times. Was a little too far out from all the sights so we got a lot of Gojeck during staying.

Avoid! We left early

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you.

Do not stay at this hotel. We booked 1 week and only stayed 3 days as we couldn’t take anymore. The rooms are mouldy and unclean. Bedsheets and towels are stained. The breakfast is very basic. I ordered a chocolate pancake which came as a pancake with a handful of chocolate sprinkles. The location of the hotel is not within walking distance of Ubud and takes approximately 45 minutes at peak times.

If we were to visit Ubud again, I would find somewhere in the center due to traffic getting in & out

The staff were friendly enough and we felt very safe during our stay. There was a lovely place across the road which was perfect for the children (Cheeky Monkeys family hangout U-bud), it had a small pool as well as a play area and a trampoline and the food menu and coffee was good too! Great laundry service available just down the road - very cheap too!

While distance wise this place seemed to be quite well located, the roads are not really suitable for walking for families due to busy car and scooter traffic and no pavements. In addition, a one-way system for cars into and out of Ubud center meant that it could take 45 mins in a taxi (would be quicker to walk but this just did not feel safe with the children). The best way to get around was on scooter. The swimming pool at the hotel was not somewhere that you felt you wanted to sit and relax as it was situated just behind the welcome desk. The water was not very warm either and the space never really got the sun throughout the day.

A wonderful place to stay

The lovely people at Bumi Muwa couldn’t do enough for you. They were so kind. Delicious breakfast every day made fresh and a gorgeous room with a lovely view of the rice field. The hotel is a 55,000 IDR trip from the “main” part of Ubud. It was nice to be away from the hectic centre but still accessible.

Perfect Stay in Ubud – Ideal for Vegetarians and a Peaceful Location

My experience at Bumi Muwa in Ubud was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and care. The service was beyond anything I’ve experienced before, genuinely attentive and heartfelt. The staff and the chef were incredibly generous and kind. Being a vegetarian and carrying some pre-packed Indian meals, I was touched by how willingly they helped me heat and serve the food, going out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. The breakfast deserves a special mention — it was freshly prepared and pure vegeterian and even offered options suitable for Jain food preferences — without onion, garlic. On my special request, they even arranged it early in the morning before the usual breakfast hours. Their hospitality and willingness to accommodate every little need made me feel at home. The location is also a big plus — peaceful, beautiful, and close to the heart of Ubud while still feeling like a retreat. I will never forget this warm experience and will definitely return. Highly recommended for vegetarians and anyone looking for a serene, guest-centered stay in Bali. 🌺🙏

Amazing property, wonderful staff and nice rooms

Property is located slightly away from Hustle Bustle of the city but it is very easily accessible and is on the main road and is near to Ubud Market. The rooms are cozy with all the amenities and nice balcony. The staff is very warm, courteous and helpful. Special thanks to Rita and Arta for helping us throughout our stay and cooking amazing breakfast for us. Would definitely recommend this place.

The room need refurbishment. Exterior is really nice but it’s not like that inside the room. Recommend the hotel to use warm light in the room to feel more cozy. If you’re able to manage for the refurbishment, the room could get sell with a higher value price.

Lovely hotel and our room was amazing such a big balcony with great views of the fields. Pillows weren’t very comfortable and the shower had a weird smell when first turned on but this wouldn’t stop us coming back here. Staff were great also and it is away from the busy streets of Ubud.
