About this apartment rental

About our home:
Our Newport Beach condo is a cozy quaint beach cottage and is the back house of the property. This house was not set up as a rental, but was initially our vacation home. The furnishings are from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. It features two good-sized bedrooms, one master with a king and an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed and there is a second bathroom adjacent to the second bedroom. This a tri-level condo (there are two flights of stairs) with a carport on the main level, the bedrooms/bathrooms on the second, and the main living area with kitchen is on the third floor. We also have a small rooftop deck with a sectional outdoor couch and gas grill off of the main living area. The condo has plenty of natural light as the kitchen roof is made up of skylights.

Location:
We love our location! Our condo is located just two blocks from the beach and walking distance to the grocery store. We are close to great restaurants, bars, shopping, water sports and activities.

How to get here by plane:
It’s really easy to get to our condo. Fly into John Wayne airport (Santa Ana) and take a 10-15 minute Uber drive right to the condo! You can get almost anywhere walking, biking or just a short Uber drive away. There is a one car small carport available, if you are renting a car or driving, however a car is not needed!

What we provide:
We provide all linens, blankets, bath towels, kitchen necessities, including a Keurig coffee maker. We also provide beach towels, a beach umbrella, beach chairs available to use during your stay.

We are selective who we rent to and want to make sure they will take care of this home like it was their own. We hope you love and enjoy it as much as we have!

Amazing location in Newport Beach.

We booked this cottage a few days before arriving in California. It was everything stated in the listing, very clean, beachy high-end decor and furnishings. The cottage had beach chairs, beach towels and a beach umbrella for use. Shower just outside the entrance was convenient. We didn’t encounter any major issues while staying. Kitchen was just the right size and included nice appliances. It does have a few flights of stairs, so just FYI if someone in your party has limitations. Parking spot in carport is tight, but wasn’t an issue for our CUV rental. 3rd level living area can get warm, but they have a stand-alone floor A/C unit that does the trick. There were several floor fans throughout as well, which helps especially if you sleep hot. Patio area is small, but is fine for an afternoon read or relaxing sit, gets warm during day and chilly in the evening. Only 2 blocks from the beach, so we walked to everything. We would def reserve this place again!

We appreciated being so close to the beach, the upscale kitchen and bathrooms, the beach gear that was available for use and the good communication with the owner. It could definitely use a fresh coat of paint in the hallways and top floor, given the peeling paint and marks on the walls.

The unit was just as described. Beautifully decorated. There are lots of stairs in this unit but we were given a heads up to this fact prior to booking. The stairs aren’t steep and are easy to navigate. Keep in mind that there is no place to store your luggage unless you have a car. You are not allowed in early, even to drop luggage. We weren’t planning on renting a car but did as this was the only option we were given by the host when asked where to store our luggage. My older parents and I didn’t want to walk around the beach walk with suitcases for four hours. If you’re planning on renting this unit, book your arrival flight close to or after the check in time if you don’t have a car!

The location was great with walking distance to the beach, grocery store, and restaurants. The decor is Coastal so you feel like you’re at the beach and the separation of the living and sleeping spaces by floor was a plus with family. Because it’s a vacation rental things are a little worn with scuffs on the wall, some peeling paint, and nonstick cookware that’s damaged. This was a well stocked house with dish soap, laundry detergent, and dishwasher pods. Parking is tight like reviews say but it really wasn’t an issue. Overall, I would recommend for the price, location and responsiveness of host.

We enjoyed every moment in Newport Beach. The home was lovely, clean, and comfortable for our family of four. We spent our 9 day trip exploring many areas of LA, Orange County beaches, Disneyland, and San Diego. The Newport home was perfect to return to each day. We loved walking to the beach, pier, restaurants, and the grocery store. Everything was completely wonderful!

First the good things: The location is great, easy walking to beach, groceries, restaurants & shops. The bedrooms were roomy with large closets and dressers. The two baths were high end…double sinks, tile, granite counter tops and lots of storage. The kitchen had nice appliances and was well stocked with pots, dishes, tools etc. The bad thing was that the unit was in such need of maintenance. Broken TP holder, ice maker on the fridge didn’t work, the stopper in the guest bath tub didn’t close, the ceiling fan in living room didn’t work, the tub in the master bath had a very serious clog and lastly the furnace did not work. We only reported the last two, most serious issues to the host. In both cases her immediate response was that the pervious guests did not report any problems. What does that mean….unless multiple guests report a problem it wont get fixed? In the case of the clogged tub she directed us to a gallon of Draino under the sink. It took three doses of Draino and many hours before the clog cleared. As for the furnace, we first reported that it was not operating on Thursday night. We had already communicated with her about the clogged drain earlier in the day. During that phone conversation she offered first to pay for a night in a hotel and then said she would refund our full payment if we wanted to find another VRBO. We did not want to move, we only wanted the furnace addressed. On Friday she contacted us to ask if we wanted her to call a repair person for the furnace and we said yes. On Saturday morning she said that she had found a repair person who could come at 3 that afternoon. We said great, we were out for the day but she could bring the repair person in. She responded that she wouldn’t be back in town until Wednesday and she didn’t want to give him the door code so we would need to be there. We finally agreed that he could come at 10 AM on Sunday. When he arrived he said that the furnace was 32 years old, in bad condition & beyond repair. He called our host and she approved a new furnace to be installed the next day. I emailed her to say that we planned to be gone the entire day, but had no problems with him doing the work while we were gone. She had me leave a key under the mat. When we returned that evening the job was done and we had heat. We didn’t hear from her again until she reminded us we needed to check on time. Lastly, the down sofa is VERY unfortable, & there were no extra blankets & too few towels.

Phenomenal location. We live in a very nice house and this was very comparable to the quality and niceness and cleanliness. Felt like something we would own ourselves. The appliances, the bed, the overall condition was excellent. Loved the outdoor deck. Just 2 minutes to the beach. We have stayed in Huntington or on the balboa boardwalk many times but this beat them all by a mile. Awesome 5 star place to stay!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely Newport Beach condo. The condo provided much, much more room than we needed but we fully enjoyed the space. The patio on the roof was very relaxing. We walked to the very close by grocery store nearly everyday. It was also nice to be in such clise proximity to restaurants. Our stay could not have been better and the hosts were amazing. Very easy to get into the condo and all instructions were clear and easy to understand. We would definitely stay here again and again.

Very clean, spacious, well stocked, close to the beach, local grocery store and restaurants. We stayed during Thanksgiving and the kitchen had everything we needed to make our Thanksgiving feast. Our kids are 14, 11, and 8- they fit comfortably in the 2nd bedroom, and had plenty of room for their necessities. If there are any issues, rest assure that you will be promptly responded to. Loved the natural lighting in the kitchen and overall this was the best vacation we have had! Thank you!

Location, location, location

We loved the walkability of this rental. It was a great getaway from suburban life where you have to drive everywhere. Two blocks from the beach, 2 blocks from the grocery and restaurants and walking distance to many other places in Newport Beach. The natural light in the kitchen in the morning was energizing and we spent quite a bit of time lounging on the upper deck. It was very convenient to have the 4 backpack style beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels and two boogie boards to take to the beach. Our hosts were responsive, the property was well equipped as advertised and it turned out to be a great overall stay.
