Puerta del Sol Center - En el Centro de Madrid

We recently stayed at the Puerto del Sol apartment in Madrid, and it was fantastic. The spacious three-bedroom, two-bathroom layout had everything our family of four needed, and it could easily accommodate six or even seven guests. The apartment was spotless, and the fully equipped kitchen—with stove, sink, and refrigerator—made it easy to feel at home. The showers were a bit temperamental at times, but there was enough hot water for all of us to shower one after another without issue. The location truly couldn’t be better. Situated in the heart of Madrid, we initially planned to rely on public transportation, but we ended up walking everywhere. Most major sights were just 5 to 10 minutes away. The entry process took a little getting used to, with a series of locks and buzzers, but once inside, we felt very secure. One potential downside is the noise. It’s lively 24/7—cafés below stay busy until around 3 a.m., followed by street sweepers and garbage trucks from 3 to 6 a.m., and then the city wakes up again by 8 a.m. If you’re sensitive to noise, this may not be the right place for you. But if you enjoy the constant energy and vibrancy of city life, this location delivers it in full.  Should we return to Madrid we would gladly rebook.

La experiencia no fue la esperada. Las fotos muestran espacios amplios y muebles en buen estado, pero en realidad el apartamento está muy desgastado y requiere mejoras urgentes. El sofá de la sala está tan deteriorado que al sentarse se sienten las estructuras internas, y los cojines de las camas están deshechos y sucios, lo que genera incomodidad. También faltan detalles básicos que cualquier huésped agradecería: dejaron muy poco jabón para lavar la loza, solo una bolsa para la basura y casi nada de papel higiénico, sin considerar la cantidad de personas ni los días de la estancia. La última noche la calefacción dejó de funcionar y pasamos frío. En general, el apartamento está descuidado, la distribución no es funcional y la sala-comedor es demasiado reducida para un grupo de huéspedes.
