About this cottage rental

The Casa Grande is a delight for families or groups of friends. It is a very complete accommodation, larger than as seen in the photos and more beautiful too. All rooms have exterior windows and are very bright.
At his feet a mountain opens that invites you to walk and in which in a time of zeal you can hear the song of the partridge and at certain times of the day you can see the flocks of sheep grazing freely, all this being close to all kinds of services.
It has 3 floors and enjoys ample spaces, which makes possible a lot of privacy between yourselves, allows you to sunbathe on a solarium located on a terrace on the top floor, reading in the living room next to a large window with privileged views, breakfast in the garden, or have a snack on the porch ... It has five large bedrooms with beds for twelve people, three double beds and six singles, we could include a cot without price supplement, four full bathrooms, two fully equipped kitchens, two large cozy rooms, one with a large fireplace, two large terraces, one of them a solarium that allows the intimacy necessary to sunbathe to everyone's taste, and an Andalusian porch ideal for night creating a chill out environment where to have a drink watching the stars. It also has a garage, pool of eight x four square meters and barbecue, all private.
The two kitchens are fully equipped, with dishwasher, includes washing tablets, oven, microwave, blender, coffee maker, washing machine, includes detergent and other necessary utensils. All bed linen and towels are included, as is gel and shampoo in all bathrooms,
It has centralized and automated heating and hot water, as well as pool cleaning is also automated.
As for the wood for the fireplace, you can buy it yourself at a nearby gas station where they sell it.
La Casa Grande is a beautiful house, unique to rest and enjoy a few days in a privileged, intimate, quiet, silent environment, with unforgettable views ... being very close to Granada capital and all kinds of services, restaurants, Downtown Health, hardware stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks ... as part of the town of Cúllar Vega, in a neighborhood development, El Ventorrillo. We will offer you information and location of bakeries, butchers, fruit shops ... where you can buy products of the land of excellent quality.
Its location is unique, at an intermediate point between the mountain and the sea, just seven minutes from the city center. They will be able to know the historical center and tapas in the most emblematic bars of Granada; You can visit La Alhambra, Albaicín and Sacromonte, located fifteen minutes away, Sierra Nevada, snow, thirty-five minutes away, the Costa Tropical, beach, twenty-five minutes away and the Alpujarra forty-five minutes away, all access by highway, and then, after an incredible day, retire to rest with the peace, warmth and charm that a rural landscape offers.
At the time of the reservation of the house we can offer tourist information, reservations for the Alhambra or Zambras Flamencas, cultural walks and a lot of activities to do outside and inside the house ..., even ski passes for skiing in Sierra Nevada.
The Casa Grande is endowed with a high level of comfort so you can spend an unforgettable vacation and enjoy all that Granada offers you, the mountains and the sea, sports and adventure, culture and gastronomy. They just have to worry about settling in and enjoying the house.
We will be available to you just by calling us for any questions you may have about the operation of the house. We would love that all people who come as guests, leave as friends.
We will wait for you.
Come and you will come back.

With hindsight and the familiar surroundings of our own home, we have evaluated 16 days of vacation rentals in Portugal and Spain. La Casa Grande, in Cullar Vega in the out-skirts of Granada, is the jackpot. Here are some of the one-word evaluations our family of eleven (including five, hard-to-please teenagers) used to rate their stay: awesome, wonderful, welcoming, fun, picturesque, tranquil and exquisite. We were greeted upon arrival by Jaime and Maria Dolores, the parents of our host, Marta. They could not have been more gracious and charming, giving every indication that they were as enthusiastic about sharing their home with us as we were excited to be their guests. They showed us through their home, and in the kitchen was a table of cold water and delicious snacks. The swimming pool and garden were immediate hits with all the tired, hot travelers. Jaime's thoughtfulness was "above and beyond" -- even assisting us with early-morning connections between the rental car drop-off and the bus station for our onward connections to Seville. The property description is that of "rustic;" it is not. It is country-comfortable in every good way. Because a stay at La Casa Grande requires a personal vehicle, it will not be suitable for all tourists to Granada. But for those with transportation, you can't go wrong, and it earns our very highest recommendation.

This is a review in two parts. First the positive: Marta (and her parents who checked us in and out) are delightful to work with. Super friendly and helpful (her folks don't speak any English so we used a lot of sign language...). The house is absolutely beautiful. Very well maintained, 3 levels so lots of room to spread out, and the pool is awesome. It was wonderful to sit out there on a hot August afternoon and relax. They provided bread and fresh fruit for us when we arrived, and there is a wonderful supermarket just a few minutes away. There is a very big deck off the upstairs bedrooms with great views and the sunsets were fantastic. There is a large garage as well so you can park your car inside if you want, or just inside the gate. Also, it is just a 10 minute or so drive into downtown Granada so very conveniently located. But... The house is NOT in the country, which is how we read the description. It is on the edge of a neighborhood of similar homes, so if you look straight out the back you do see rolling hills and olive groves and such, but on the other 3 sides you have the rest of the neighborhood. Including the one doing renovations so as we sat outside we were watching the workmen and listening to their radio. Not the fault of this homeowner, just an example that you are very close to others. There is no A/C (we knew that going in) but in Spain in August, no matter how many doors or windows you open or fans you turn on, it is VERY warm, especially at night when you're trying to sleep so that was uncomfortable. Lastly, there is no WiFi. In 2019, it is simply unacceptable to not offer this feature. This meant that we had to use our own data plans to try to do any planning or searches or look up maps or find things to do. That meant we spent extra money because we were going through our existing data which was not a good thing. One can live without A/C, but today you must have WiFi. All that said, it was still a good experience and if they were to add at least th WiFi, we would definitely stay there again.
