The property is situated in a great spot, very clean and the hosts were friendly and professional. The special touches with the refreshments were appreciated.

Nice stay in the Village Hout Bay

Claudia was at the apartment to greet us and show us around when we arrived. The apartment was beautiful and well equipped and Claudia was friendly and helpful. Superb flat in the Village on the ground floor, close to the shops and beach plus many eateries. The garden overlooks Hout Bay beach and harbour plus views of Chapman Peak drive. Excellent all round stay.

The best thing about the property is the location to the beach - literally a walk over the street and you’re on the beach front. If it wasn’t for that I would rate this a lot lower. The location pushes this rating up - if you’re planning to be off property most of the time on the beach, 💯 worth the cost. If not - I suggest finding a different place.

1) unclean - the carpets and floors were dirty, and things like the curtains and security gates had a lot of dust on them. The rooms felt very used and in need of a massive refurb for the cost of the property - only the bathrooms were updated. Cutlery and crockery needed to be washed again. 2) noisy!! - the neighbours were extremely noisy (for a weekday booking - sounded like they were partying every night) - unfortunately the unit right next to the main bedroom carried all the noise - and it went on well after 10pm. I needed to ask the host of the property for the complex’s quiet hour rules - and I was the one going to knock on the unit’s door to ask for music to be turned down and to be mindful of neighbours 3) run down - the complex pool is very run down and in need of a major overhaul. The roof collapsed and the furniture is breaking. My child cut her ankle on old plastic by the pool’s drains. We sadly only used the pool once for this. The parking is a nightmare the garage itself is also in need of maintenance. Overall the complex is old and definitely leaves one with a sense of let down for the price paid for the property.

We like the beach behind the Property.

We had certain problems with the Manager. We raised few issues eg the toilet seats were flimsy and she needed to replace it and upset her by using various issues. She changed our towels and she gave one bath towel and one child towel. So overall regular electricity failure at regular time made our stay difficult. No one mentioned this issue of power cut. Also water running down from bath to floor not adequate facility on main bathroom and she did not want to know the problem. This needs addressing to landlord Will use big house Airbnb which does not have power failure as has inverter next time as more faciities

Beautiful Apartment in an Amazing location

Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location. Overlooking the beach which is just a few steps away. Well appointed, clean and spacious. New bathrooms have just been fitted and these were spotless. The complex is very secure with a reception, beach access and secure underground parking. Nearby are bars and restaurants. The beach bar some 100m away shows sporting events incl Premier League soccer. The food and service were also excellent. Several supermarkets are within a 5 min walk and a bakery just nextdoor.

Close to Hout Bay shops, restaurants and the beach. The apartment is well appointed, with everything you need, and it's evident that extra thought has been put into making this a perfect getaway. We especially liked the laundry detergent capsules, the kids books and toys, and the emergency power outage box with battery powered lights.

Located accross the beach with spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. Easy access from the beach to the apartment. Wifi has ups, which was very helpful with loadshedding.

Literally can't say there is anything we disliked. Worth every penny!

Hout Bay The Village Apartment 9 assures a Lovely Holiday

The on-the-beach setting; the incredibly beautiful scenery; the close proximity to all facilities and entertainment venues; the spacious, comfortable and beautifully-decorated interiors; the kindness and friendliness of the letting agents and their great communication; and the great security of the apartment complex.

The neighbours in the apartments above were really loud and noisy at odd times of the night: 11 pm to midnight and 5:30 am. The top apartment neighbours threw live matches and a coke can into the garden of no. 9. This was disappointing and disconcerting. It's a great pity that such privileged people behave so selfishly.

The location is absolutely amazing, with direct beach view. It was very secure. The apartment has everything you need. The indoor pool is quite nice for the kids and is a good alternative to the beach.

I did not quite like that we always had to use the token to enter the building. Especially when we went to the beach, we always had to carry the keys and the token with us which made it hard to just for a short dip to the beach. The apartment needs a little bit of "love". Several small things like light in the fridge did not work, and also some things were broken, i.e. heating or parts of the fridge. All in all, we were expecting a little bit more love for detail for that price.
