Worst parking entrance

Location

Parkong entrance. Big metal piece middle of driveway. Only 10mm from each side of garage entrance. Left side big trailer parked and Scratched my new car which will cost me R20 000 to panelbeater

Excellent location, superb view and close choice for restaurants and cafes/bars Felt secure and safe friendly concierge All aspects well explained by host (directions, local shops and restaurants, taxi and facilities) Mid-stay clean was welcome appreciated the input of Michelle who was often around the complex

Would benefit from more cooking things in the kitchen (mixing bowl, jug for example) Had one electricity cut as power was not topped up Moved twin room around slightly to fit in extra bedside table for space to put things - most likely a room with kids in mind rather than two adults

Great stay

A Wonderful Stay at On the Beach Hout Bay I had a great stay at On the Beach Hout Bay and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The appartment was well-appointed, with plenty of space to relax. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having a view of the ocean right from my window was a real highlight. The bed was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere felt calm and inviting. The beachfront location is fantastic – perfect for morning walks along the shore or enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Hout Bay. Restaurants, cafes, and local attractions are all within easy reach, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Our host was warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. They were happy to provide tips on local activities and dining options, which made my visit even more enjoyable. The property offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. While it’s not a full-service hotel with extensive amenities, the combination of comfort, location, and friendly service more than makes up for it. On the Beach Hout Bay is a lovely spot for anyone looking to unwind by the sea. With its fantastic location, comfortable rooms, and welcoming staff, it’s a great choice for a relaxing getaway.

One thing to be aware of is the sound of the generator which runs when there is no load shedding. While it’s not overly loud, it’s noticeable. However, this seems common in the area, and on the plus side, it ensures you still have power for essential needs — a definite advantage given the circumstances.

Great location, amazing views, spotlessly clean and helpful host

The host was very helpful for any queries, explained everthing and nothing was too much trouble. The location was amazing, right on the front, great views and close to all amenities. Underground secure parking was also great to have.

Very nice location, and a comfortable unit, but are some niggles that need to be sorted out.

There is no signage directing you to On the Beach, so you end up having to call the host, and then they tell you the sign is in a different name!

There was no vanity in the 2nd bedroom, not even a mirror, the standalone mirror is not in a good position. There was a hairdryer in the main bedroom, but the hairdryer is very far from the mirror which is totally impractical. There was no washing sponge/towel, but there was drying up towels. The microwave did not work, this was reported, and the host bought one through 2 days later. The WIFI signal is very bad, which is a problem if you need to work. You cannot come through the main door after 9am at night.

Due to no breakfast and other being offered at the venue I think full backup power would be great. Check out time is also a bit aggressive felt a bit rushed relative to other places. The unit offers limited entertainment for kids as the weather turned to poor. Thought there would have been Netflix or DSTV. Also cups were stained.

Very friendly and helpful host Kath. Spacious place. An inverter to ensure light, wifi and TV usage. Grand positioning to the beach, the village and restaurants.

Minor: some kitchen items could be renewed, e.g. cutting knife for bread.

Brilliant

Wonderful location. We could lie in bed and watch the sea. The apartment was spacious with everything you need. Within easy walking distance to the shops and several restaurants (The Dunes being the closest and the best for seafood). The complex was secure too. A perfect place for a stay in Hout Bay

Nothing of any importance. The bedroom curtains didn’t keep out the light and the blind was missing from one of the windows in the bedroom but this didn’t impact on our wonderful week.

Tranquil beach

Was on the beach though view from room little obscured was a great location. Room clean and large enough spaces. Felt safe enough. Host fantastic and thoughtful. Was a half hour away from airport which was great. Beautiful drive into Hout bay. Shops close to.

The back up power for internet was good though little noisy didn't mind it to much. There was a poorer area close by and couple of days was heavy police presence around earlier in day that was a little alarming but didn't hear a peep from anyone.

Although you have an access tag to enter all areas, the door/from to the beach, is locked "according to signage at 21h00" BEFORE 21h00. Then you have to walk around a block of units to the front door - not safe. Unit advertised with BBQ facilities - no facilities at all. Towels are hard and not "user-friendly" 0

This is really a lovely place and Adrian and his Dad are really very friendly helpful and excellent. The security guards were friendly and always checked if we are OK. The garage was also a bonus. The garden guy came around and was always friendly. Will really recommend this place to all and will return
