The Stone House is built on a point of land that has a 180 degree white water ocean view like no other! The home sleeps up to eight people and includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms and is adjacent to a white sand beach known as Baby Beach. The kitchen has a large picture window and comes fully equipped with everything you need for those looking to prepare a homecooked meal island style! The dining and living room areas have a spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean which allows for hours of whale (seasonal), dolphins and sea turtle watching. Known for being one of the southern most points in Poipu, the surrounding property provides plenty of privacy, open space and some of the best view plains Kauai has to offer that can capture both sunrise and sunsets. 2 Kings, 2 Twins, and 2 Daybeds in living room. AC is ONLY in bedrooms.

We loved our stay at the Stone House. The most incredible views all the way around the house. Hearing the ocean, day and night, was a highlight for all of us! It was convenient to be near shops and restaurants and we loved visiting Baby Beach. It was a wonderful experience for our family's visit to the south shore of Kauaii.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great location. It's generally private, very peaceful and very convenient for accessing baby beach. It is cool to go out and look at the tide pools and the turtles in the water. General cleanliness could be improved. There was a fair amount of trash from previous users under the bed, behind the dressers, etc. We only saw two very small cockroaches in the house. The porch has a significant number of very tiny ants that do bite occasionally, and this is our biggest complaint. It was slightly challenging having a 3 year old due to the height of the beds and the toilets, but otherwise he loved it. I do agree the property needs a no trespassing sign to keep people from crossing the yard to the public rock space. All the other homes have this sign, therefore people park and cross at this house because it does not.Overall I do recommend this property, and the management company was very responsive and easy to work with.

Beautiful views made this house amazing. We would sit and enjoy the sunrise and listen to the ocean. The home itself is in decent condition but could use a deep cleaning, looks like there have been upgrades to the kitchen counters. We had cockroaches, larva and poo everywhere during our stay which was a bit gross. I've never exp them that bad before in Kauai. The kitchen could use some new cooking utensils, some were in poor shape. Overall it was a great stay but we did have issues with the neighbors walking through the yard to get to the rock break in front. Also had people parking in the cul de sac and going in and out of the property to access the rock break thru the driveway. Was a pain getting them to leave, as most of them were cursing at me or name calling. A gate on the driveway or possibly just some small signs to let the neighbor properties know to stay in their own yard would be helpful.

The home is absolutely beautiful, open airy with wall to floor windows that allow sunrise to sunset ocean views, The expansive yard and huge lanai are perfect for relaxing playing football with grandchildren or simply sitting reading and enjoying the phenomenal view. The home is decorated with gorgeous hand crafted Koa wood sofa and tables and has very comfortable beds and linens. The staff at Garden Island are so friendly and respond immediately to any needs or questions you have.Thank you to the family for sharing their beautiful special home.

All windows have stunning views of the ocean.Having said that, the rest of this review will be quite negative. Bear in mind that our comments are within the context of price: $10,000 per week. At $2,000 weekly our complaints would not be justified!The house interior is shabby. It looks like nothing has been upgraded in decades. The bathrooms are vintage 1960s, in fact one of the toilets broke during our stay. Three days later a plumber came in and did a temporary fix. There is no attention to detail at such a "luxury" home as it's billed. For example, the kitchen knives are the dullest I've used, obviously they've not been sharpened in years.Strangely this "luxury" property has only one upstairs bathroom SHARED BY THE TWO MAIN BEDROOMS!!!! The living room ceiling has clear indications of termites in residence. And so on.A parting comment: we requested a late check out and were denied it.We have stayed four times at a neighboring property which did fulfill our expectations. Unfortunately it was booked already. We will not stay at the stone house unless a major remodel is done, but we are not holding our breath.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from the front porch of this home is just unreal. So one would expect comfortable furniture and fans from which to take it in, but you will not find that here. The furniture inside and outside this home is some of the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced. At this price point I expect a lot more. On the plus side it’s got good beds, a well equipped kitchen, and plenty of beach gear. The bathrooms are outdated (the toilet upstairs is a toddler size toilet) and the water pressure is poor. We found a roach in the bed one day. The rental company was pretty responsive at the beginning of our stay. When we found the roach they didn’t seem to care much - dropped off roach bait for me to put out. Bottom line, at $1000 a night I expect a whole lot more.

However, the kitchen pots and pans need an upgrade, especially for a rental that is this nice - most were worn out and the nonstick pans lost its nonstick coating. It’s a bit of a disappointment for an avid cook. We understand that pests and insects are a challenge in a tropical environment but we seem to kill cockroaches almost every other day in this house. We have rented other places before on Kauai but never had this issue.

Reviewer Comments: Stonehouse is situated on a point of land which provides you with 180 degree views of dolphins, whales, sea turtles and occasionally surfers.You are literally surrounded by water views. You also have a lovely lawn, privacy and a gorgeous long lanai in which you can sit and enjoy the views or dine al fresco.The home itself is light airy and beautifully furnished with a hand made koa wood living room set. The bedding is very comfortable. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with everything you need to dine in and prepare lovely meals. But if you feel like dining out, Storehouse is a 5 minute walk from the Shops and restaurants at kukuiula. You are also a 5 minute walk from the Beach House restaurant.The bedrooms are air conditioned, however in January we love to have the windows open to listen to the rhythms of the ocean. Stonehouse will not disappoint, and we have made many many wonderful family memories here with our children and grandchildren. In addition, the staff at Garden Island rentals are friendly and easy to work with.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to be able to take my grown kids on a spectacular family vacation to Kauai. I wanted someplace special to stay, and this fit our needs perfectly. We loved that the ocean was Right There! We spent many hours relaxing on the lanai watching the waves, and walking out on the rocks to get a closer look at the sea turtles. (It was too early for the whales, but we did also see some dolphins). There were five adults in our party, and there was enough room for everyone. The kitchen is nice and big, with an incredible view of the ocean. There is a cute little shopping area about a ten minute walk away where you can pick up a few things, or eat out. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the waves at night from the master bedroom and opening the shutters in the morning to take in the view of the ocean and baby beach. My daughter made the mistake of trying to snorkel in baby beach and got stung by sea urchins. Fortunately, there was vinegar in the cupboard to dissolve the spines. We learned there were many better choices in Kauai for snorkeling.

We see sunrises in the morning and sunsets in the evening. A magical place to make family memories.Lori did a beautiful job decorating and all amenities for cooking and relaxing are available to dine in and eat on the lanai.The sounds of the ocean lull you to blissful sleep at night. Louis, Jenny and Yannell make sure all is perfect for your stay, and they are positive and easy to work with.The location is great for walking to baby beach, or up to Kukuiulu for restaurants. shopping of Lappets ice cream. We have made many family memories here.

Located in Koloa—truly the sunny side of the island—you never stop hearing the sound of rolling waves in this well-appointed home. The sunsets every night from the deck overlooking Baby Beach were unbeatable!! There is almost everything you need within walking distance—great beaches, Spouting Horn, great shopping and dining at the Shops at Kukuia’ula. Kiahuna golf course is 5 minute drive away...a terrific Robert Trent Jones course. The kitchen is VERY well appointed if you choose to eat “in”. Truly the highlight of this home is the beautiful grounds that surround and the privacy! It has everything you need for a true escape to paradise!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My Mom, nephew and I stayed a week at the Stonehouse in Koloa Kauai. It is a beautifully situated home in Koloa with breathtaking views. Overall, we loved our stay. The home was clean and its location allowed us to easily go anywhere we wanted around Koloa and Poipu in just a few minutes. When we called property management with questions or concerns, the staff was professional, friendly and helpful.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, I want to make you aware of a few inconveniences/concerns as follows:
-Dishwasher not properly working. Though someone came in to replace a part during our stay, the dishwasher still was not running properly.
-Refrigerator thermostat needs to be looked at. Could not sufficiently lower temperature of the refrigerator, it froze food/drinks even when setting the temperature level as low as we could (as instructed by cleaning person).
-The locks on two of the three screen doors on the first floor did not work.
-The left shutter of the window in the second bedroom on the second floor needs repair, the hinge looks rusted and warped. And, various push rods for the shutters around the house were loose, close to breaking and disconnected from their slats.
-Shower curtain in upstairs bathroom was moldy with black spots at the bottom.
-There is a hole in the screen in the bathroom window upstairs, it allows bugs to come in (particularly in the evening).
-There was no cable remote in the master bedroom.
-Various light bulbs were not working or missing around the house, such as a bulb missing in the kitchen track lighting and a bulb missing in the downstairs bathroom.
