Quarry House

Stylish apartment with most of the basics for an enjoyable stay. The big wall mounted TV with Sky Q was a bonus! The place was spotlessly clean and well presented - always the most important thing in any accommodation. Stamford is also a lovely town to visit, with a good choice of bars and restaurants close at hand, and a Waitrose supermarket just up the street for food and drink essentials.

While the location was handy for Stamford town centre, it's also on a very busy road with a lot of traffic noise - fine if you have earplugs and don't need to open the window. Access is via steep stairs, and the shower is over a high sided bath - again fine for most, but less so if you have any mobility issues. We travelled to Stamford by train to Peterborough then the Delaine bus which was fine - not sure where you'd park if you came by car ...

Fantastic location to explore Stamford. Close to a reasonably priced car park. Easy access with a key safe. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed.

The entrance and outdoor terrace were full of cobwebs and leaves, the windows were a bit grotty too. It's a shame because everything inside was spotless but the outside wasn't.

Clean and comfy, and because of changes in family circumstances, we were allowed to stay just one night.

A faulty bathroom light switch (which had a bit of almost invisible white tape over it) tripped the lights for the whole flat. We were plunged into darkness when we returned to the flat at 11.30pm. Had to find the host's number and call them, then find the fuse box high up in a cupboard in the dark to untrip the correct switch. Not a great experience, and worried about the faulty electrics all night!
