Villa Julia stay

Love the cleaner! She was fantastic. The site manager was also top notch! The pool was great and the location was perfect for where we wanted to go and would definitely stay again. About a 6-7 minute walk to seminyak's eat Street. And a great little cafe is about 5 mins away in the opposite direction

The place is a bit rough round the edges but it's expected given the age of the villa.

Location is great easy walking distance to the beach or the square. In a quiet location. The staff that came over daily to clean & look after the pool were fantastic.

The lawns needed mowing it would've made a difference. There's mould that needs cleaning, the furniture is old & worn & could use an upgrade, it would've been nice to have a tv in the lounge & the WiFi wasn't always available. The welcome letter needs to be updated as it doesn't feel warm & welcoming it mostly tells you the rules and what not to do plus the format it's written on is unprofessional. The photos advertised don't match what you actually get. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the beds need new mattresses and more pillows.

We really loved the villa. Staff were wonderful.

Well appointed villa fairly central. Clean and comfortable. Host and manager were great. Prompt in replying and very obliging. Filtered water available on tap with replacement prior to it running out. They provided us with insect repellent coils.

The pool hard to get in and out of with no steps. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are too high and steep. Would've preferred a television in the living area. Only Netflix and YouTube available with remote menus hard to navigate. We had to be shown by staff on basic operation. Close to an empty rice field which attracted lots of mosquitos. Maybe a mosquito spray as well as the coils they provided could've controlled it a little better. No washing machine.

Aside from the friendly and helpful service staff, this was an extreme disappointment.

The water was unusable - we had to resort to brushing our teeth and bathing our baby with bottled water. The pool has a layer of film just after one day, we did not use it after our first night. The floors felt gritty and the mosquitos were a serious problem in spite of multiple coils, repellent and patches for everyone. We woke up one morning to our takeaway box of food strewn across the dining area with the box ripped apart and the food eaten - we were told that it might have been a wild cat from around the area. The door lock also did not work on the first day and we had to waste so much time trying to figure it out just to resort to latching it manually.

Over rated and you are best to look for a different villa

We found there was little to like.

Where do I start? Having read the previous reviews I was really looking forward to staying in this Villa but was very disappointed. It began with it being very very difficult to find! - I was not sent a 'pin' on Google maps until I was on my way travelling through the streets of Seminyak trying to find it and when I did receive it, there was no signage on the property and the large gates were closed. We were wandering up and down the street trying to find it until the cleaning lady opened the gate to let us in. Once we met the manager he took pains to show us how to lock and unlock the gate and this was clearly because the lock was difficult to operate; we spent a considerable amount of time every time we went in and out trying to get the key out of the lock. It was very frustrating especially in the heat. The joinery throughout the villa was old and the cupboards were difficult to open and shut. In the kitchen we gave up trying to open and close the cupboards looking for a rubbish bin. On top of that the kitchen was particularly dirty and we did not use any of the mugs, glasses etc because of this. On the one occasion that we used the pool, there was a very unpleasant smell of sewage - not necessarily coming from the pool but it was evident. We also did not use the sun loungers due to the staining on them. Throughout the short time we spent at this villa, there was an ongoing sound that sounded like a sheep baaing and I recorded it in case the owner might be interested, however we did not hear from the owner when I complained. The noise occurred repeatedly and continued until after midnight. Other niceties such as tissues and having a face cloth and hand towel in the bathroom were absent. After we stayed one night we checked out and found a new villa. The manager was slow in replying to us, said he had referred it my complaint and request for a refund to the owner and to this day, I still have not heard from them. I would not recommend!

The lounge area is open air and lovely, with 2 large fans, but it did get pretty hot! I don't think I appreciated that it was not a fully closed off room from the photos.

Location was close to everything, within easy walking distance. Quiet. Very comfortable beds and great air conditioning. Great facilities, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and the extra bathroom was a bonus.

Keys were given to us by the cleaner as we arrived early to drop off luggage as previously agreed. No explanation with keys but we figured it out. Separate keys for each room. No housekeeping service on second day but this wasn’t a problem. Quite difficult to locate as it’s tucked away.

Great Villa for two couples

The villa looks much better in person compared to the pictures. Central location to Jalan Kayu Aya (main street for restaurants, shopping, gelato, frozen yogi), Seminyak Beach and flea markets. Staff are so helpful and kind. These Balinese people are just lovely in general. Local coffee (name of the local coffee shop) has the best coffee, fresh fruit bowls and eggs benedict imo. Staff are also lovely and helpful. Each bedroom has its own ensuite plus an extra toilet in the common area downstairs.

Upstairs bed has a spring mattress so you can hear yourself rolling over in the bed. Downstairs bed has a firm spring mattress.

Amazing location, great size for small family or 2 couples.

Wow! The villa was amazing. Best swimming pool and pool area to laze around in. Super spacious bedrooms, bathrooms, living and dining areas. Fresh water to drink daily. "Made" the housekeeper was super sweet and helpful ensuring villa was clean and supply of fresh linen and towels. Putu the manager was absolutely gorgeous meeting us in the middle of the night and walking us through Villa as flight delayed by 5hrs. Julia the owner was amazing assisting with a later checkout as later flight. The Villa is walking distance to Ku De Ta, main street Seminyak and all areas of interest in Seminyak. Thank you for ensuring 12 days of absolute bliss and rest. Cant wait to stay again. Xx

La villa est un peu défraichie, les coussins des canapés sont anciens et tachés. Le manque de décoration... Une odeur persistante d'urine de chat dans la chambre à l'étage malgré notre signalement. Le fait que les locataires suivants débarquent à 11h alors que le "check out" est prévu à midi. L'absence de rencontre avec le manager Putu.
