A great find. Although in the owners garden there was plenty of privacy and outside seating to enjoy. The owners were very helpful and happy to help if you have any questions. There are dogs but they are also very friendly and sometimes sleep near you when sitting outside. The property was very clean with plenty of space to relax. There's a Thai pub within walking distance which is very good and the property is in an excellent location to explore Hampshire with the south coast only about an hour away.

You´ll meet the very nice hosts Maggie and Rob with their 3 adorable Golden Retriever and a cat on their beautiful property, where the host´s house and the annexe is situated. The really cosy and spacious annexe is close enough to the owners house to ask questions, have a small chat or get visits from the dogs (very friendly and soo sweet!) - but still with a "border of bushes and trees" to be on your own. We´ve been welcomed very friendly. Already before our vacation Maggie answered my numerous questions without any complaint. You´ll see at once that these guys really love what they do.
For kids there´s a big garden to runaround and they even have hens. There´s a swing and a trampoline as well. A lot (!) of games inside. Tangley is smaller than a village - it´s a very quiet place with only a few houses (no shops- you have to drive to Andover). A perfect place to come back and relax from an exchausting trip. It´s for the whole family.

We had a very nice stay in the house. It is equipped with all amenities. It was very clean. A lovely gelding there. During the week we were there, only Rob was home. He took all the time to explain beautiful walks to us and to have a chat. Had some really nice conversations!

We have to accept, that 5 Stars are the highest evaluation, but we have to give 6: Very quiet, a so well kept house, sweet dogs and a 15-head-chicken-family giving their eggs. And of corse wonderful hosts! We hopefully will come back one day...

We very much loved our stay at Rob and Maggie's annex in Tangley in between house moves. We felt very welcome and had all the amenities we needed for the week.
The location is wonderful and The Fox pub opposite does lovely Thai food. Our 4 year old daughter loved playing on the trampoline, with their dogs and chickens.
Very much recommend this rental. 5/5!

We had a fantastic stay in this annexe. Maggie and Rob were the best hosts you can imagine. There are very helpful and have a lot of good ideas of what to do and where to go. We hope to return someday because we haven't seen all there is to see around here.
We also enjoyed the fresh eggs and plums which had a unbelievable freshness.
Thank you Maggie and Rob for your wonderful hospitality and hopefully we will see you again some day.

If you are looking for nice, calm place to relax, enjoy nature and live in your own small house - join this location. Nice garden and three lovely dogs make this house very suitable if you have to stay in Andover and/or surroundings.
Thank you to Maggie and Rob for this beautiful place. You can be sure that I will come back, but my third visit will be for holidays. Big hugs!

Rob and Maggie were fantastic hosts and very attentive and friendly. Well situated location for days out to Highclere Castle, Blenheim Palace, Beaulieu and even a day in London via train. The garden was great for the children (ages 7-14). Football net, trampoline, table tennis table, swings and tree swing and friendly dogs to play with. The children also liked collecting eggs from the chickens. The accomodation was very comfortable and the best equiped kitchen we have experienced.
Would definitely recommend!

Felt so welcome
From the first minute we arrived Rob and Maggie were the perfect hosts. We received such a warm welcome from them and their 3 dogs and from then on it felt like we were part of the family. The annexe is so comfortable and had everything we needed. The garden is big and beautiful and the chickens laying fresh eggs every day a real bonus. The location is perfect for everything in the area with the Thai pub literally a.minutes walk away. I cannot thank Rob and Maggie enough and would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area

You won’t be disappointed
A warm welcome awaits from Maggie and Rob when you stay at the Oakcroft Annexe. Country location with plenty of walks nearby. Very well stocked kitchen and accommodation . Spent a wonderful two months there, particularly when their two retrievers and four puppies were there. Not to forget the chickens and their delicious eggs. Nothing is too much trouble as Maggie and Rob are there to assist and they welcomed our visitors making it feel like home for the time we stayed. Can recommend wholeheartedly. Thank you Maggie and Rob and missing Carly, Winnie and Bruno.

Great Time in Tangley
We have just spent 2 months in this wonderful holiday home whilst we house hunt having just moved back to the UK. Maggie and Rob were amazing hosts - so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had everything we needed to make it a really comfortable and well equipped home from home. We loved meeting and playing with the 2 dogs - Carly and Winnie who made us very welcome too, and, occasionally saw one or two of the family's cats. Fresh eggs whenever we wanted as well..what more could one ask for.
There are several local pubs in the area - including one at the bottom of the road serving Thai food. There are local shops a few minutes drive as well as more major shops and supermarkets at nearby Andover.
Lots of quiet footpaths abound in this quiet area of Hampshire.
We can highly recommend this holiday home.

Great stay and wonderful hosts
A beautiful venue and absolutely perfect for family. Rob and Maggie were very accommodating and our kids loved helping out with chickens and eating their fruit on their grounds as well as being greeted by their two friendly dogs! Good location for sightseeing and walks as well as good restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend.

Great family break!
This was a great property for a family break. The kids loved the garden and played outside everyday, making the most of the trampoline, swings, badminton and table tennis. Rob and Maggie were wonderful hosts, even putting our shopping away for us when we were delayed getting to the property! They were very welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful, it was a pleasure to meet them. This was a great base for days out with Stonehenge, Salisbury, The Hawk conservancy and some nice local parks all within 30 mins drive. We hope to return at some point! The kids are especially looking forward to seeing the dogs again!

Fantastic break in a quiet location, relaxing but plenty to do.
An amazing break away, the hosts Maggie and Rob were great and made us feel so welcome. The kids loved the outdoor area, trampoline, swings, rope swing, badminton and table tennis. The family dogs were really friendly and played with the kids too. Chickens and fresh eggs everyday- what more could you ask for.
The annex had a large range of board games and films for us to enjoy.
We enjoyed the area, walks in the woods and bike rides.
Highly recommend this property and we hope to go back again.

A cottage brimming with character
Maggie and Rob are such welcoming and friendly hosts and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The cottage is in the grounds of their large home and is a very decent size. The furniture, including the beds, is comfortable and the kitchen has many pots and pans and everything required to cook all your meals there if you didn't want to eat out.
On the subject of eating out, the Fox Inn is within easy walking distance and produces some very nice Thai food; much of the menu can be made gluten free which is great for me as I'm coeliac. We ate there 3 times in a week!
Maggie and Rob have 2 friendly dogs, 5 cats and about 20 chickens which provide deliciously fresh eggs every day that are given freely to the guests - they even gave us some eggs on our last day to take home with us.
Overall a lovely, cosy property that is perfect for a relaxing break, managed by charming, friendly hosts.

Glorious, Peaceful Escape
We will never forget and will always remember our time at Oakcroft for a special staycation. It was only enhanced by our wonderful hosts, Rob & Maggie and their graciousness kindness and thoughtfulness. Oakcroft and the Annexe in all its splendor is truely unique, filled with nature, tranquility and peacefulness including the hours spent on the most beautiful walks in the countryside of Hampshire (with lovely country pubs often included).. It will remain imprinted on our minds and in our hearts and souls. We feel rejuvenated, rested, restored and ever so grateful to have spent time in your exceptional part of the world.
P.S. A special shout out to the hens for the gorgeous fresh eggs, and the lovely and playful goldens, Carly and Winnie.
P.P.S..And also for the fresh crisp linens, well equiped kitchen, lovely garden with hammock and laying on the table tennis!

Lovely stay in Tangley
We really loved our stay in Tangley. Maggie and Rob were the most accommodating, flexible and understanding hosts. The Annexe is clean, welcoming and well equipped. We were able to cook a full Christmas dinner whilst there - the kitchen has everything you 'd ever need. We had a lovely time, full of long walks, peaceful reading and relaxing. It was also lovely to have a chat with the hosts here and there and play with their gorgeous dogs. We feel that we need to return soon!

Maggie and Rob were really friendly and only too happy to help us get the most from our break. They had left some beautiful flowers, a bottle of wine and some eggs from their chickens as a welcome. The property is comfy, cosy and very clean with quality bedding, fixtures and fittings. Getting a phone signal was a bit tricky but it fitted in with the getaway from it all feeling of the area. We had a really lovely week, many thanks. to Maggie and Rob. S & C Devon

From the word go Maggie & Rob couldn't have been more helpful both leading up to our stay and whilst we were there. They are truly the perfect hosts, always on hand if needed but also very much respectful of one's privacy. We had a wonderful welcome and we couldn't have been more pleased when we saw the light & airy, spotlessly clean, stylish annexe that was to be our "home away from home" for the next week. It is set in the most luscious garden with trees, bushes, shrubs and a magnificent lawn. And I would not like to forget the wonderful chickens who provided us daily with scrumptious fresh eggs and Carly, the family's adorable golden retriever, a gentle soul. The area is truly beautiful and we were given excellent recommendations on where to go and spent hours exploring not only on foot but also on bicycles that were so kindly lent to us by Maggie & Rob. We lunched and dined at some great country pubs and can certainly recommend The Fox Inn, which is just around the corner, for fabulous Thai food, The Hatchet, a picturesque thatched pub, for a tasty lunch and The Old Bell & Crown, another chocolate box pub for good food and beer.Whilst we were staying at the Oakcroft Annexe my husband turned sixty and as I couldn't get the surprise birthday cake I had planned to have, Maggie saved the day and actually took time out of her busy schedule to make a mouthwatering chocolate cake with fresh strawberries & Raspberries for the occasion. I cannot thank you enough, Maggie and I really could do with that recipe! What a wonderful piece of the world this is! It was a break to be remembered and we will return again. Thank you Maggie & Rob for sharing your private paradise with us!

Authentic experience, outstanding hosts
The perfect getaway in the English countryside. Exactly as advertised, with both two and four-legged hosts that exceeded all expectations! Would recommend as a place for either pure rest and relaxation, or a 'home-base' to see other sights in the area by car or bicycle, or a bit of both. On behalf of my partner and I, we really, really enjoyed our stay. We may even be back!

Clean, cozy & quiet retreat!
We cannot say enough good things about Oakcroft! My husband, 2 daughters and I stayed here for over 3 weeks and it was a home away from home. The owners, Maggie and Rob, are super friendly and welcoming and the property is well cared for, stylish and very clean. The kitchen was very well appointed and loved the extra touches... fresh eggs, homemade jam and wine when we first arrived. The garden space is lovely and our girls enjoyed the space to run around and play in an enclosed space. Great pub with excellent food within walking distance as well as beautiful walking trail. Lots of great recommendations for places to eat and explore by the owners We were sad to go as we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend!!

Wonderful hosts, wonderful surroundings
We stayed at the Annex as we were looking for somewhere to quarantine in the summer, and we were simply bowled over by the fantastic hospitality offered to us by Rob & Maggie.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. I couldn't count the number of times they went the extra mile for us, and never once made us feel like we were putting them out.
Our girls had a whale of a time herding chickens, hunting cats and playing with Carly and Winnie, not to mention playing in their incredible garden.
The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful, and it's only a pity we weren't able to enjoy it as much as we could have done at the time.
I couldn't recommend staying here enough. Thank you both!

Wonderful stay in Oakcroft, Tangley
Had to visit Andover due to business reasons. As due to COVID regulations I had to undergo some days of quarantine I selected this lovely house to avoid to stay in a small hotelroom. One of my best decissions! Great house, wonderful garden, two lovely dogs and nice landlords (Maggie and Rob) providing me with all necessary groceries. Stronly may recommend this location for business and pleasure trips as close to Andover and touristic places as Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), Stonehenge, Avebury, Salisbury and much more. By the way: good Thai restaurant only 50 m away (Fox Inn Tangley). I will come back with family to visit the nice area for tourism! Thank you for all Maggie and Rob!
