Historic house in a beautiful city

This is a lovely 100-year-old house, that's been restored by the owners to how it would have been, back in the day. So it's definately not a "modern" hotel, but it does have all the necessary mod-cons to make it a very comfortable stay. It's a lovely town, and the main square is just 10-15 min walk away (it's not a big town!). The owner is very hospitable, and makes a good breakfast in the morning, woth home-made jams and carrot cake!

The building itself is stunning, full of orignal character and charm, Michel has done a remarkable job restoring this property to enhance it's original characters and features whilst blending in modern amenities. The room itself was immaculate and I slept very well both nights. A real surprise was the breakfast, which ended up being my favourite meals of my week excursion through Europe, perfectly balanced with sweet and savory and exceptional coffee. I liked everything about this stay and will certainly recommend to friends, family and hope to visit again in the future.

I know it's can be useful for constructive feedback but this falls within the rare occasion where my stay was faultless.

Perfect.

We were made to feel most welcome. The house is beautiful, having been restored with much love by the hosts. There are a few stairs up to the room, which is on the top floor, but you are made aware of this before booking, so this was no problem. Although we only stayed one night, we wish it could have been longer. Next time we are in the area, this lovely B&B will be our go to place. Many thanks for your excellent hosting.

A great way to take another breath in a 'fine art' environnement with warm hosts.

We felt 'at home' in a beautiful Art Nouveau style with a lot of art surrounding us. We felt as in another century with a lot of technical refinements, which I like.

You just have to know that there are stairs to arrive at your 2nd floor, but they are particularly safe and that was great.

A gem!

Everything. One of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed at. The room is big, very tastefully and with an eye for detail accessorised. Even a music facility in the room AND in the bathroom! Bed huge and supercomfy, shower brilliant, all lovely and clean. Breakfast all locally sourced and lots homemade, very lovingly and beautifully presented by Michel and Isabel who are fab hosts. The house itself is very beautiful. Breakfast room light and view in courtyard wanted us to be there in the summer, too! Ask Michel for his music, he's a stunning guitar player!

Fantastic breakfast (bacon & egg), homemade cake and jams, etc. The room is large, very comfortable and quiet. We had all the top floor of the house to ourselves. Michel is a great host and Tournai is a very interesting town.

Michel and Isobelle are fantastic hosts very supportive of you whilst you stay. The room is large and with a separate bathroom on the same floor. Warm and welcoming The breakfast is really good, lots of choice and everything tastes great. Especially the homemade jams and carrot cake 😊

Beauty, comfort and feeling absolutely at home

What a beautiful and cosy house, never seen a more beautiful bedroom than the Van Gogh room ! Everything was nice to look at, what a fine taste of decoration, comfort and beauty to every detail! Very friendly hosts, excellent breakfast in a lovely room. Very good price, excellent location in the city. The best B&B we ever stayed in .

Excellent bed and breakfast!

Loved everything! Beautiful room with lovely view! Super clean. So much thought gone into provision of little details in room and bathroom. Lovely books to look at - little shared outdoor terrace for nice weather. Exceptional breakfast served by really friendly hosts. Home made very special jam (also for sale so we are still enjoying it now!) Easy parking in street - though time limit with blue disk during daytime. Easy walk to town centre. We loved it here! No hesitation to go back if in area again.

All I can mention is that there is no TV but plenty of interesting books. We had some internet connection problems that hosts are looking into. (We were too tired after our lovely day in Tournai to investigate further so just read and slept! ) The room is on 2nd floor so several stairs to get there but I just took it in stages with the cases, stopping at each landing. Don’t be put off! It’s worth it when you get there!

Charmante en rustig verblijf.

Het huisje in Art Deco stijl was zeer charmant. De hosts hebben de stijl doorheen het hele huis doorgetrokken wat het zeer bijzonder maakte. De kamer was rustig, alsook de omgeving. De ligging was ideaal, alle bezienswaardigheden en de restaurants waren op wandelafstand te bereiken. Het ontbijt was eenvoudig, maar zeer lekker, net zoals wij het graag hebben. De badkamer was zeer proper en aangenaam.

Niet dat het tegenviel, maar we willen toch graag een paar tips meegeven aan de hosts. Ze kijken best even de zakdoekjes even na, want ze raakten te snel op. Gelukkig heb ik altijd alles bij en was dit voor ons geen enkel probleem. Verder kunnen ze best de waterkoker checken voor ze bezoek ontvangen want we durfden deze niet te gebruiken omdat er veel kalk in zat.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre étape à la Villa Tournesol, charmante maison d'architecture art-nouveau, située dans un quartier calme et proche du centre historique de Tournai (10mn à pied). La chambre est spacieuse et très confortable. Nous avons reçu un très bon accueil des propriétaires, le petit déjeuner est excellent.

L'interrupteur d'éclairage de l'escalier du 2e étage est à revoir.

Maison en bordure de parc, à quelques minutes à pied du centre ville de Tournai

Voici donc une très jolie maison de caractère, tenue par un couple qui n'en a pas moins ! Isabelle et Michel sont des hôtes très attentionnés, aux petits soins pour leurs voyageurs, n'hésitant pas à mettre la main au fourneau pour vous préparer un succulent "bacon and egg" dans la plus pure tradition britannique. Ajoutez à cela du pain toasté, de la délicieuse et sophistiquée confiture maison, des fruits frais, des laitages, un thé en vrac ou café serré et vous comprendrez que tout est là pour bien démarrer la journée. La chambre, qui jouxte une salle de bain moderne, est très spacieuse et confortable, tout comme le lit bateau en bois poli, au matelas irréprochable. Résolument une très bonne adresse !

Gezellige verblijfplaats met super aangename ontvangst

Mooie sfeervolle kamer, rustig, aparte privé badkamer die zeker voldeed. Hosts waren zeer behulpzaam, een veilige plaats voor onze fiets, gaven ons info, boden aan onze fiets op te laden zonder meerkost. Ontbijt was in een heel mooie authentieke ruimte , de gastheer was paraat om alle wensen in te vullen. Superleuke ervaring.

Voor ons geen probleem maar de kamer is op het 2de verdiep, misschien wat moeilijker voor mensen die wat minder op de been zijn. Anders alles naar wens

Deze mooie Villa lag in een een residentiële buurt. Het huis was met liefde ingericht en had karakter. Het ontbijt was zeer verzorgd en de eigenaars waren discreet, hulpvaardig en vriendelijk. Wij raden dit logement ten zeerste aan. Want de prijs/ kwaliteit verhouding is zeker heel goed. Bovendien bereik je vlot de stad.
