Windsor Palms Villa w/South Facing Private Pool & Hot Tub Close to Disney & Golf

Fantastic clean and comfortable villa in an excellent location close to the parks.

The location was great and the property was good. We had all the facilities we needed and the pool table was a nice feature.

We stayed in this villa for 2 weeks in July/August. The house was in excellent condition and well maintained. We have stayed in numerous villas on Windsor Palms over the years and find the location excellent.This home was spacious and great for our family and had everything we needed in terms of utensils and towels. The pool was great and we enjoyed spending quality time around it whilst resting from park activity.Broadband and TV channel selection was excellent.We had no issues with the villa and would book again. The hosts provided all details for access clearly and were on hand for any questions.Great vacation.

A key reason for booking this villa, and paying a premium, was the private pool. We had high hopes based on the description of the property & reviews. These hopes were soon dashed, particularly in relation to the pool. On arrival there was a dead frog in the pool, the net structure covering the pool had numerous gaps in it & weeds growing through it, making it ineffective. The pool quickly became infested with thousands of flies & lots of worms. It was extremely unpleasant & not suitable for use. The pool was cleaned weekly but the bugs & worms quickly returned. We had to make repeated contact with the owners to seek a resolution, not how we had planned to spend our time on holiday! Into the 2nd week of the issue the owners did increase the use of the skimming machine which began to clear the dead bugs but there were still hundreds of them at the bottom & around the sides of the pool. It was only after the third week, and on our last day in the villa, that the pool was cleaned again & was looking clearer. Out of our three week stay we could only use the pool once. We asked the owners for a goodwill gesture of compensation given we were deprived of the use of the pool but this was not responded to by the owners whose position was it was ‘normal’, not their fault & advised us to use the communal pool. We consider that if the over pool netting was better maintained & extra skimming was done sooner, we could have had some use of the pool. Other private pools in the estate & the communal pool did not have issues with bugs. The villa itself is average. The decor is tired & needs painted. The bath tubs & tiles are grubby & need a deep clean. In the games room the pool table cover is held together with sellotape, there are no darts to use the darts board & 2 of the pool inflatables have punctures. We had an ant infestation in the master bedroom & living room which was reported to the on-site contact, however no action was taken resulting in us having to purchase pesticides at our own expense. We thereafter contacted the owners who did arrange for pest control to attend the following day & they removed a table which had been crawling with ants. There are some positives - the appliances, furnishings, Wi-Fi & TVs are good & the kitchen is well stocked with utensils. Windsor Palms is a lovely & convenient resort. Overall the issue with the private pool made this a very disappointing stay and we would not recommend the villa on that basis.
