The Waterside is basic, but fine. It is not dirty. It is not luxurious.
There are no on site staff and no housekeeping. There was no shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or small hand towels. There were, however, very useful ear plugs provided and two extra towels that I presume were for beach usage. There are also outdoor foot wash stations which were very useful. Within the room, there were lots of hooks to hang your towels or wet bathing suits on so that was great.
It reminded me of a modular house/trailer set up. The door was essentially pre-fabricated sheet metal type door and the shower was a fiberglass insert that you'd see in a seacan/trailer type of setup. Perfectly adequate, but basic.
The AC worked, but could not be set below 75 F due to concerns from condensation (per posted instructions in the room).
The location is great, but it IS directly behind a very lively bar, hence the useful ear plugs.
Given that there is no regular housekeeping, I would recommend the hotel provide a small broom and dustpan to sweep up the inevitable sand that gets tracked into the room. Additionally, smaller hand towels and toiletries would also be appreciated.
Overall, I recommend this hotel because it is priced economically, it was clean, there were adequate towels, the room was functional, and the location was great.
