Moffat Independent Hostel

The property is gorgeous in terms of the building and decor. And clean. Staff were friendly, bathroom and room large. Lots of shared lounges with pool table, books and vinyl record player.

It wasn’t a social hostel it was quiet but it was off season.

The property is beautiful- a lovely, large Victorian house in the edge of Moffat surrounded by trees, it is calm, quiet and has everything you need. There is a communal kitchen, dining area and games room with a pool table. The superior quad room that we stayed in is one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in, with a large private bathroom even with a free standing bath tub. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were absolutely spotless. The owner and his family are really friendly and helpful. We honestly couldn’t fault a thing.

The hostel is a lovely Victorian building which seems more like a hotel than a hostel, well-situated for walking and cycling or touring in the area, or for an overnight stop somewhere a bit different. Everything was very clean and we received a very friendly welcome when we arrived. Our rooms were well-furnished - very comfy beds! - and had ensuite facilities. The lounge was beautiful, and another large room downstairs was set up for guests to use as a dining room and was adjacent to a fully equipped kitchen for guests to use if they wished. The hostel has no restaurant but you can bring in your own food and drink and Moffat also has several good pubs and restaurants. By prior arrangement the hostel can supply a packed breakfast if desired. Lots of books and maps in the lounges and easy parking in the grounds outside. We will definitely stay again.

Everything was great (although my daughter was a bit sad we missed seeing their beautiful cat!!)
