They property and garden was very picturesque but the experience was not what we imagined for a relaxing retreat without

The pool and garden area were very nice the rooms and bathrooms were comfortable

We were told the rooms had air conditioning one room upstairs had a free standing air con which was more noise rather than cooling and the downstairs room had no air conditioning at all. The owners didn’t speak any English the husband tried and his wife did not try at all with us even though we tried to communicate with Google translate. The breakfast was average and the area where breakfast was served had no air or fans was very hot. One day we sat by the pool and their 2 grandsons were there playing soccer for over an hour then played in the pool for over an hour after while we were trying to read our books and relax we were unable to swim because they were playing volleyball in the pool and other games. They did not once tell the boys to be quiet or get out of the pool while we were sitting there for 2 hours. There was no fridge for guests to use which would have been handy for wine/champagne and cheeses we had to ask to use their fridge in the kitchen which seemed an inconvenience to the wife.

Our strangest ever hotel experience.

The breakfast was excellent and the setting very pretty with a lovely pool and garden.

We were surprised on arrival in our room to find practically everything wrapped in plastic - from the headboard to the drawers. This meant that we could not use much of the furniture. Although after some negotiation the hoteliers offered to remove the plastic (and the sheeting that covered the two arm chairs) they were clearly not happy doing so and so we agreed to most of it being left on. As a result, we felt like we were staying on some kind of weird movie set. We understand that COVID requires meticulous cleaning and creates a challenge for owners. However, this seemed above and beyond what was required (the first reason given to us for the plastic was that the owners did not want to use harsh detergents on their delicate furniture). On the Bookings site it does say that the premises are taking COVID seriously and have put measures in place, but in our four stays in France, this was by far the most severe set of measures we saw (and we did not feel 'unsafe' in any of the other places).

Parfait!

Halte d'une nuit dans cette superbe propriété nichée dans un écrin de verdure et de calme. La maison des hôtes, y compris la salle du petit déjeuner (délicieux, servi dans une vaisselle somptueuse!) dans une splendide verrière donnant sur la piscine, est décorée avec un goût sans failles. De même notre chambre parfaitement équipée. L'accueil des propriétaires fut lui aussi impeccable. Et une petite mention pour les sympathiques poules de soie asiatiques! Nous reviendrons aux Prémices de la Forêt avec grand plaisir.

Geweldig ontbijt! Prachtige kamer. Zeer netjes, schoon. Fijn zwembad, gelegen in een mooie tuin. Aardige en attente gastheer en -vrouw. Perfect.

De WiFI had een 10 als score. Helaas hebben wij die 10 niet ervaren. Wij hebben samen met de gastheer drie verschillende WiFi-connecties uitgeprobeerd en alledrie liepen ze vast of waren ze na korte tijd zeer traag. Na diefstal van de smartphone in Parijs hadden we juist WiFi nodig om alles te herstellen vanuit de backup.

J’ai apprécié l’accueil de Francis et Sylvie. La qualité de leur hébergement m’a impressionné. Après une journée de moto, j’ai pu profiter de leur piscine et de l’eau à 28 degrés. Un vrai moment de détente pour moi. Le petit déjeuner est en plus exceptionnel.

Accueil très chaleureux et très belle maison

Nous avons passé un super séjour chez Sylvie et Francis, qui ont été adorables du début à la fin. La suite Framboise est très confortable, décorée avec goût et parfaite pour se détendre. Mention spéciale pour la piscine, vraiment agréable et idéale pour se rafraîchir. On s’est sentis comme à la maison — merci encore pour votre accueil chaleureux !
