Schloss Moosburg Gästehaus

It's a very enchanting castle with a rich history. The rooms and facilities are very clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good and is served in a very beautiful building. There is also a nice room to store your bikes or to charge your ebikes. My wife forgot her phone charger and cable in the room and they were nice enough to mail it to us. All in all we were very satisfied with our stay and we plan to come back again soon!

We stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The castle is exactly what you’d hope for from a medieval building—rustic rather than luxurious, but absolutely beautiful. Every room and corridor has its own character, and it genuinely feels like you’re staying somewhere with real history rather than just another hotel. Herr Bauer is best described as the castle’s master of ceremonies. Reading some of the other reviews, he clearly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we thought he was brilliant. Think Carinthian Basil Fawlty—a real character: eccentric, charismatic and unapologetically Austrian. It’s all done with a twinkle in his eye, and once you realise that, you understand he’s adding to the experience rather than simply checking you in. Breakfast was excellent and served in a magnificent dining room that suits the castle perfectly. The service during breakfast was faultless, our room was spotless every day, and everything was relaxed without ever feeling inattentive. The setting is simply spectacular. Perched above the village with wonderful views across the surrounding countryside, it’s one of those places that’s difficult to do justice in a review. We’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for modern luxury, this probably isn’t for you. If you want to spend a few nights in an authentic Austrian castle with bags of character—and Herr Bauer as your unforgettable master of ceremonies—you’ll have a fantastic stay.

Unique and wonderful experience - what a treat! We enjoyed a spectacular evening, taking in the many activities nearby, and slept great. Then we were surprised by a wonderfully elegant breakfast and a surprise champagne toast to one of us celebrating a birthday. To top it all off, our gracious host gave us a generous tour. We were looking for a special experience, and it was perfect. Thank You!

Only wish we could have stayed longer!

The Castle is amazing, especially the place and the nature around. The history of a castle, the design, rooms and views from the windows are breathtaking

STAFF. I have never seen such a nasty and unfair attitude toward the guests as in this place. The manager was arrogant, and disrespectful to women (me). I made a reservation through the booking and I PAID for everything already which was written in the confirmation from the booking.com. But the manager in the hotel had different prices and they wanted me to pay a second time the total amount while I did already done it through booking.com and I had the confirmation! the manager didn't allow me even to say a word interrupted me and was soo disrespectful that he manipulated me saying if you don't pay the total amount - I put you on the blacklist!! While I had my relations only with booking.com and I did everything right but he accused me of lies and didn't believe what was written in my booking confirmation! THAT WAS A HUGE STRESS for me. Such people as this manager should not work with people, and should definitely learn by heart the rules of booking.com and whether at all the hotel may blame the client while the client did everything that booking required her/him to do! that was a problem of the hotel and booking.com of why they had different prices and definitely not mine!
