A pleasant stay which was relaxing ,enjoyed the local walks. the local walks

It was lovely to have plenty of room..having the bedroom area on the mezzanine was a big bonus. The kitchen area was spacious and there were 2 balconies… Everything was spotless!

The only issue for me were the stairs in the room…the treads were a little narrow so had to take them carefully,

Excellent apartment in stunning beautiful location

Apartment - enormous and spacious, especially for a single person. Separate mezzanine bedroom area and two balconies, one mountain facing and one side sea view facing. Air conditioning available, but two enormous high windows provided enough breeze during the daytime if both opened not to need it. Location - at the end of the beautiful village, a minute from the quiet black sand and pebble beach into the crystal clear blue waters of the Libyan Sea. Better location for having a little distance from the many day trippers and hikers exiting the Samaria gorge most days. Village located at the end of the gorge, and only accessible by ferry (stunning ferry ride along part of the south coast of the island). Very easy to walk up the bottom end of the gorge (which I did). Host - Eva was lovely. Always on hand for information and advice, and we even managed to have a lovely conversation in my broken Greek and her broken English!

Mezzanine bedroom area was very hot. Problem only solvable by using the air conditioning for a couple of hours before going to bed, which lasted most of the night (remote control available for A/C for quick cooling if required). Eva and owners aware of the issue and offered this advice/solution.

Highlight of our father-daughter trip to Greece

My dad and I spent a week travelling around Crete and this was the best place we stayed. The host was super friendly and made us feel so welcome. The accommodation was perfect for us to relax in between adventures and we especially liked having coffee on the balcony overlooking the sea. Agia Roumeli is a very cute town surrounded by stunning scenery and has some beautiful walks. Can't recommend this place enough!

This was one of the best places I've ever stayed in. Warm and friendly welcome from the host. Excellent price. Spacious and very well-equipped apartment, with very comfortable seats, and two balconies. I lived Agia Roumeli, with its sandy beach, access to Samaria Gorge, and some great restaurants. I really hope to return for a longer visit.

Good location away from the beach crowds, but still very close to the beach and restaurants. This is a very well-run family operation: friendly, helpful and professional, and full of local knowledge about the area. They also have a restaurant nearby (studio guests receive a discount!). The studios are large, comfortable and very clean. The wifi was acceptable. We would definitely stay here again.

a perfect place for conquering Samaria Gorge

A spacious comfy room with the sleeping area on the mezzanine and a large balcony. Spotlessly clean. A few hundred metres from the ferry pier and the entrance to Samaria Gorge.

The lighting arrangement is not to cozy. Lukewarm water in the shower in the morning.

No breakfast included, but it was lovely getting a coffee at the nearest cafe, and enjoying that from our room’s balcony with a sea view!

Perfetto!

La signora Athina è una meravigliosa ospite, gentile, comunicativa e disponibile. Ad ogni richiesta per informazioni o per necessità ha sempre risposto prontamente facendo il possibile per soddisfarla. L'alloggio si trova in fondo al paese in posizione tranquillissima e silenziosa e a 2 passi dalla spiaggia. Nel grazioso piccolo giardino che lo circonda è piacevole trascorrere le ore più calde nella fresca ombra dei gelsi.

Non essendoci un'apertura che permetta la circolazione dell'aria soppalco è molto caldo. Il condizionatore è posizionato troppo in basso per cui la zona sotto diventa molto fredda senza riuscire a rinfrescare adeguatamente la zona superiore. Per fortuna la gentilissima signora Athina ci ha fornito un ventilatore che ha risolto il problema e abbiamo potuto dormire con le finestre aperte cullati dal solo rumore del mare senza dover usare il condizionatore che non amiamo. A mio parere sarebbe sufficiente fornire tutti gli appartamenti di un ventilatore a muro sul soppalco in modo da smuovere l'aria calda che si accumula in alto.

La posizione

La mancanza di corrente per ben 33 ore consecutive nella struttura. Le altre strutture avevano il generatore, potendo vcosi garantire i buona parte dei servizi ai propri ospiti. Temperature in camera, soprattutto nella zona del letto a soppalco, inaccettabili (oltre i 30 gradi). Nessuna informazione e nessuna assistenza da parte della proprietaria (no candele, no buono per comprare bibite fresche altrove). Solo un „non é colpa nostra“ (nemmeno degli ospiti che però hanno dovuto pagare il prezzo intero). Nessuna possibilità di usare la cucina, fare colazione, cucinare e bere bibite fresche (mese di luglio). Nessuna possibilità di caricare il telefono per oltre 24h. Nessuno refill dei contentinori dello shampoo, nonostante il soggiorno da mercoledi a sabato. Abbiamo dovuto rinunciare all‘ultima giornata di mare, visto le inaccettabili ed invivibili condizioni della struttura e l‘impossibilità di dormire in modo decente per due notti consecutive, il tutto per ben €80 a notte. Una tenda sarebbe stata meglio e sicuramente piu in rapporto per servizi ricevuti/prezzo.

Rauhallinen, tilava huone, kotoisalla tunnelmalla. Hieno näköala sekä vuorille että merelle. Majoituksen ylläpitäjät ja henkilökunta erittäin ystävällisiä ja vieraanvaraisia. Pyykinpesu onnistui yhden päivän kuluessa, niin että pyykit olivat valmiina ja palautettiin jo saman päivän iltana. Hyvä palvelu 8 eurolla, jos harrastaa patikointia. Siivous oli huomaavaisesti tehty. Minua autettiin joustavasti eräässä henkilökohtaisessa asiassa enemmän kuin voi odottaa. Agia Roumelista käsin pystyi nauttimaan rauhassa, lähes yksin, Samarian rotkosta ensimmäiset pari tuntia, jos lähtee aamuvarhaisella. Kylässä voi nauttia rauhallisesta vuoristo- ja maaseututunnelmasta. Iltaisin ja yöllä voi olla todella hiljaista ja lähinnä kuulua vuohien ja lampaiden kelloja läheisen vuoren rinteiltä ja aamulla kukon kiekaisu. Yöllä voi tarkastella halutessaan tähtiä, jotka näkyvät vähäisen keinovalaistuksen vuoksi upeasti.

Ei ole mitään isoa valittamisen aihetta. Asunnossa näkyi jonkin verran normaalia kuluneisuutta sen iän vuoksi. Suihku oli pienehkö ja veden lämpötila hieman vaihteli. Vedentulo oli riittävä, mutta olisi voinut olla voimakkaampikin. Televisiota ei ole, eikä huonesiivousta jokapäivä, mutta mikään näistä ei vaivannut minua, vaan nautin olostani.

No me gustó nada el apartamento. Era viejo y muy incómodo porque las camas estaban en un altillo y hacia mucho calor y había que subir por unas escaleras estrechas como si estuvieramos en un parque de bomberos. La cocina no tenía prácticamente ningún utensilio y además los fuegos eran electrodomésticos y muy viejos. Lo único bueno el trato con la mujer
