Lack of parking

The villa was exceptionally clean, perfectly situated halfway between the main road and the beach (via steps both ways!) but felt very private thanks to the lovely olive trees, which also afforded plenty of shade. It looks exactly like the photos. It was very well equipped, having so many additional items, such as a cool bag and ice blocks, mosquito deterrents, games, books and every conceivable kitchen item you could ask for, plus various condiments, foodstuffs etc! The AC was extremely efficient and the entire villa was very comfortable. The little package of food & wine was very appreciated, along with the ice-cold water in the fridge. We had one very minor issue with an AC unit and this was dealt with within 30 minutes. We had great views of the sea and spent many hours simply relaxing on the terrace watching all the boats! The beach is shingle & narrow and there are no sunbeds and umbrellas there, so it never really gets that busy, which we love. It is great for swimming & snorkelling, lovely water temperature & teeming with fish! We hired a boat from Billi’s Boats on recommendation from the villa and had a fabulous time. From the villa you are only a short walk from restaurants and bars (The Dolphin is on your doorstep), so it is very well situated. Yes, there are quite a few steps, this is not the place for those less able, but neither is Paleokastritsa in general, as it is a hilly resort. It did us the world of good though, no holiday weight gain here! It was also handy having the connection to the hotel as we were able to spend the day of check out there, as we had an evening flight. The food at their pool bar was very tasty & great value. This was our first time at the villa but our third in Paleokastritsa. We had the most lovely week here and would happily return to this accommodation.

The only minor thing I could mention is that there is a lack of mirrors and good places to get ready. Both bathrooms have a mirror and the door of the en-suite is mirrored, but it would be handy to have a mirror in a more convenient spot in the bedrooms, so you don’t have to get ready in the bathroom, as this ends up getting quite warm and holds others up. The hairdryer is in the bathroom also, so this would be better outside. It could also do with some bedside lamps, as the main lights are quite bright and not much good when you have a wife who likes to sit in bed with a book and a husband that likes an early night! This is the only reason I didn’t score the facilities a 10!

The location was good if you can handle the stairs. It was nice to be by the water and be able to snorkel away from big crowds.
