disappointing stay overall

Title: Friendly host but disappointing stay overall The host was polite and communicative, but overall the stay was quite disappointing compared with what was described online. Breakfast was included, but only consisted of a small portion — one egg, one sausage, three slices of bacon, some mushrooms, and a small bowl of porridge. When I asked for one more egg and a bit more porridge, I was charged an extra £5, which I found unreasonable since breakfast was supposed to be included. The breakfast time was also inconsistent. At check-in, we were told it was from 7:30 to 9:30, but on the last day we were informed that breakfast would finish by 9:00, and we had to come down before 8:45. The listing also stated that check-out was by 10:30, yet we were asked to leave by 10:00. The room we stayed in faced a busy main road, with constant traffic noise day and night, which was very different from the “quiet street view” described on the platform. In addition, the toilet drained very poorly — sometimes it took four or five flushes to clear. While the host was friendly, due to the breakfast issue, noise, plumbing problem, and general inconsistency, I would not choose to stay here again.

Oasis in a busy Town

Lyne and Paul were the complete hosts and went that step further than the norm ! Breakfast was really 👍

Great hosts, in a lovely home very clean and welcoming.

The welcome from Lynn & Paul was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and they helped make the occasion very special. The property is very clean, breakfast excellent and location close to town and near the A1 was perfect for our needs.

Paul & Lynn are unique as proven from the warm welcome and fine hospitality which was received from the start. I was able to relax in the cosy and comfortable room. I had a wonderful time eating a hearty breakfast. I will book again.

Superb - we had wonderful stay at Bridge House Bed and Breakfast.

Bridge House Bed and Breakfast offered excellent accommodation. Lynn and Paul were so welcoming, friendly and helpful . Our twin room was furnished to a very high standard with lots of attention to detail and it was very clean and comfortable. The property has a lovely garden which is nice to sit in. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice on offer and the dining room was very well furnished.

A very warm welcome from Lyn and her husband on arrival. Room was excellent the ensuite was super. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was superb all freshly cooked. Thoroughly recommend staying there.

The bnb was exceptional,the hosts Lynne and paul were lovely very welcoming nothing was to much for them,cant wait for our next stay,must say they make some lovely home baked bread a must try.I would recommend this bnb if your going to stay in that area.Full marks to the lovely hosts.

Clean, Spacious accommodation with excellent Breakfast, strongly recommended.

This property is well worth it's 5-star rating. Paul and Lynn are excellent hosts, they provide an atmosphere of home from home. The venue is clean well-kept and succeeds in making guests feel welcome and valued without being patronising. We would all recommend the Bridge House to anyone needing accommodation in Newark or surrounding area, with pleasure.

Highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious with the added extra of homemade preserve. There is nothing that we would change. We stayed in the twin room. We will be recommending to friends / family. We hope to visit again soon.

Exceptional

The stay was beautifully wonderful! The hosts are super - we had a driving accident before checked in (almost four hours late), despite medical condition on that day Paul should not have stayed so late to wait for us until middle of night; he made extraordinary extra effort to help us resolve our travel problems and settle us down in the house to have a sound and safe night - we can’t say thank-you enough to Paul and Lynn! We will certainly pay our next visits soon.
