Terazza Grande in Diocletian Tower

My stay at this apartment was absolutely perfect in every way. The property is uniquely atmospheric, being set in the old building within the ancient walls of Diocletian’s Palace in Split, which gives it a truly special and historic charm. The apartment itself is beautifully maintained and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable. The highlight for me was the stunning terrace, which offers breathtaking views over the old town and out to the sea—a wonderful spot to relax at any time of day. The host was exceptionally communicative and helpful, making the whole experience seamless from start to finish. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Split. I loved every moment and would not hesitate to return!

I liked everything.

You get what you see - a great studio apartman with a terrace in the heart, still calm corner of the historic downtown. The bed was comfy, the kitchen is simple but satisfactory. You have a splended view from the terrace. Marija, the host was kind and very responsive. The market is right there, where you can load your fridge with local products.

Nothing.

Location was perfect. Inside the walls, great views, excellent vibe with the sounds of the city, 2 mins walk and you are at the main attractions. Only a few mins walk to promenade and ferry stops. So no need for taxis. The balcony was excellent and a nice spot to relax and have a few drinks as the sun sets. Hostess excellent with pre arrival communications and checking in with us during the stay.

The stairs - the downside of being in the top floor with a balcony, and not having a lift because you are in a historical building. If you have large bags / suitcases or have trouble with climbing many steps then this property may not be for you. I suggest host offers luggage carry service up and down stairs from apartment for a nominal fee. Could also have been a meet and greet service at the bronze gate as it is inside the old town walls and a tricky spot to find. I would have happily paid for these. Shower is a hand help shower head only and not much pressure. It’s ok for a quick wash. Entrance to building is old / tired. Lived in by locals, living their daily life. It’s raw, real and authentic which can been seen as a plus. For those that like modern entrances then this is not it.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location was unbeatable, right in the heart of the palace, and the apartment itself was spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The rooftop terrace is exceptional. Sitting out there in the early morning or evening, overlooking the ruins and watching the old town world go by, was a highlight of our trip. What made the experience even better was the host, Marija. She was kind, responsive, and very helpful — from sending videos on how to find the apartment to being available if we had any questions. We’d definitely recommend this property and hope to return. Highly recommend this property!
