it was a little off the beaten track so we experienced more of an authentic Japanese holiday, all the other guests were Japanese.
it means times for meals were less negotiable but the authenticity and outdoor onsen more than made up for that!
it's in a little village so it's great to avoid tourists, so also not many shops or public transport nearby as a result.

Hot and clean inside and outside public baths. Excellent evening and morning meals. Very friendly and helpful staff and great service! We had two young kids and I would recommend the place for families.
We were very satisfied with our stay. I note that the place is old and worn so there were marks on the walls.
