Perfect stay

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was large enough and comfortable, there was even a fridge. Continental breakfast was excellent. Good location, too. The railway station is within walking distance.

The property was 5 minutes away from everything. The rooms were very big and had all essentials provided, even a fridge and hairdryer. On arrival we were greeted by Harry and shown to our rooms . The bar was very friendly with staff going above and beyond The only downside was that the room was cold on arrival but when we mentioned this to the barman on returning home from our night out he sorted it straight away for us . We didn’t stay for breakfast but it all looked great ( continental ) car parking also so that was a bonus too. We will definitely return to this hidden gem.

Where do I start. Its very tired, worn carpets up the stairs, cracked loo seat, broken bath panel. Picture fell off wall when brushed past it to get into bed. Headboard was so rickety & wobbled when you touched it. Would not recommend. It needs a complete refurbish.

Sleepless night in cleethorpes

Close proximity to seafront and shops. Free parking at hotel

We was put in a separate property a few doors away from the hotel. This was currently being refurbished. Stairs were still covered in painters carpet protector. The room was a fair size but had walls that had been patched with odd matching paint. Peeling wallpaper lightshade that was ripped. Door number including the screws left on bedside table with masking tape. Pictures in the bathroom were ripped and falling apart. 4am onwards room next door was in and out of their room running up and down the stairs. Very noisy and went on for several hours. Didn't appear to be hotel guests. Possibly staff. Had to walk back to original hotel for breakfast which was a free for all help yourself. Other residents of hotel unsure of what to do and where to sit to eat breakfast. Not one member of staff was there to advise or give keys back to. Very poor show.

The bar area, reception area, hallways all dirty, untidy and needed more than a little tlc. The bar prices were high. Animals roaming about. Made us feel itchy. Bedroom furniture old. Carpets stained.

Enjoyed our stay in Cleethorpes, and would recommend The Clee Hotel to other families.

Location is superb, with a lovely little friendly (not rowdy) pub built into the ground floor. The staff were helpful and accommodating and we would love to stay here again. There's a family friendliness about Cleethorpes in general that we really appreciated, having being jaded by another well known resort on the Lincolnshire coast that is considerably less so.

Unfortunately my partner was heavily pregnant 37 weeks and we had a 1 year old stuff and was placed up near the top up 2 flights of stairs down one flight of stairs and up again to another flight of stairs. Wasn’t able to undone window due to a big crack in the window and both windows were accessible for our stuff to get to. A little dusty in dining room and breakfast was limited.
