The location and view was lovely.
The staff weren't friendly, our room was lovely with a great view but it was cold. I woke in the middle of the night freezing with the cold. Our breakfast was cold and the noise from a group of people there was ridiculous for early morning. We won't be returning or recommending this hotel. We were very disappointed.

Nice location by the lake. Good live music in evening.
Cold shower. Rooms too warm. Tv didn’t work. Coffee cold at breakfast despite us asking for it to be hot. Breakfast average.

We had a suite and it was just perfect. My partner bday wouldn’t have been as good without the staff making a big fuss of him.
The staff were the win here

The location is beautiful on the River Shannon
The hotel was a bit grubby...like it needed a bit of attention. There was dirt on the floor in the lobby area when we checked in and it was still there when we left the following morning. The windows on the front door were dirty - that was the first impression on arrival... There were cobwebs in the corners of the room. It's a pity because it's a nice hotel just needs a bit of attention to detail

Its location.
Our bedroom was freezing with a big gap in the window and cold air blowing in. The heating was on intermittently but was no good because of the window.

Staff were wonderful and friendly. Room was clean and the bar/restaurant area was very nice. The hotel itself was quite pretty though could feel a little worn at times. It's a bit of a walk to get to town but the walk itself is lovely. The spa was beautiful.
There was a lift but it didn't seem to be for general use so bringing bags up and down the stairs could be awkward. For the price the room was very basic and the breakfast was average. The toilet in our room made a lot of noise for a good 5-10 minutes after using it which wasn't great if being used in the middle of the night. You get proper keys instead of a key card which would be fine if you didn't have to listen to other guests in the middle of the night struggling to get into their rooms.

Very comfortable and great location. Great food. Just a great vibe about the place. Definitely recommend it. Room was amazing.
It’s a bit confusing to find the rooms and the staff could do better im that regard. As quirky as they are they should update the keys.

Pleasant staff, great sized rooms and shower really powerful. Really tasty dinner and breakfast, really good cocktails too! Good value and suited us as a group of friends for a catch up.
Rooms do need updating - just a little rough around the edges.

It was perfect for one night stay for an event. Quiet and comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
There was confusion at reception. Our room was not ready until 3.20 and we were under pressure to be at an event . When we finally got key to our room, we got wrong key and walked into someone else’s room, disturbing the occupants and further delaying us.

Nice location, reception were very friendly, bed was comfortable. Sweet treat left with tea making facilities was very nice touch, nice breakfast
Building is poor in terms of accessibility, issues with maintenance & housekeeping, service during evening meal was poor.

Excellent breakfast - great range of fruits, seeds and nuts, as well as bread. Warm breakfasts are cooked to order. All the staff we met - reception and restaurant - were excellent, all welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are lovely - leading to to the bank of Lough Derg.

The Food and Restaurant staff was the highlight of the weekend.
Bed was very comfortable
Dirty Room, Dirty bathroom, Dehumidifier and air freshers left outside bedroom door to hide the smell of damp. Complained to Reception and might aswell be standing in a field of thistles.

Food ok.
Poor layout. Had to walk up one flight of stairs, down 2 more and through 7..yes 7 doors before reaching our bedroom door.
There was a lift which only served floors above the dining area but not the floor below.

It was an absolutley fabulous stay. From the moment we were met in reception by the fabulous Robert (I hope I remember his name correctly!) to the moment he checked us out - stunning hotel, beautiful location, incredible staff. The room was very comfy and had everything we needed (and even what we didn’t! Two slices of delicious homemade carrot cake were in our room on arrival - such a nice touch. Bottles of water were there too, room had everything g we could have wanted. We ate in the restaurant for dinner - food was delicious and very reasonable. It overlooked the lake and had a super outdoor area. Plenty of little out of the way sitting areas to sit and enjoy a drink if you didn’t want to be in the bar. I’m
Surprised at the few negative reviews of this hotel - it was the best value in Killaloe on the weekend we wanted to stay, and having stayed in other places in Killaloe over the years - this would absolutely be the best stay I’ve had
There really was nothing!

The beds were very comfortable
The first room we were allocated was grubby with a visible stain on the blanket at the base of the bed. The floor in the bathroom was sticky and the outside of the doors to the little courtyard were in very bad condition. In addition there were loads of cobwebs around the courtyard. I rang reception and I did get moved to another room plus a voucher for tea and scones but it still put our getaway off to a bad start.
The outdoor dining area was also grubby with lots of cigarette butts in the plant beside us and crows picking off plates on the other side of us. The whole area looked very tired.

Our room. Water supplied fresh daily. Bathroom soap etc.
The "Continental breakfast" . No hams. No cheeses. Fruit salad was 95% apple. Sausages and bacon were cheap. Juices were also of the cheap variety and not cooled. Only White sliced pan for toasting. No soda bread. No bananas.
Dinner at the hotel was poor. We had it once on the first night.
Our first room already had guests in it. We were shown a further two rooms which were unsuitable/unusable and finally room number four was satisfactory.
This hotel is NOT 4 star. It is at the highest a 3 star. It is not what it says it is.

We had a very enjoyable weekend break at the hotel and the room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed. The staff very all very welcoming and helpful, the food was all very good and the setting was convenient for our needs. The car parking is all very close to the main hotel entrance and so it was easy to move our luggage into the hotel.
There was nothing to dislike.

The bathroom was too small and needed updating - tiles dirty

Nice staff, close to amenities, modern
There were stains on the curtains, no liquid soap, not a whole lot of fruit selection for breakfast. Room doesn't have much lighting.

Outdoor area
The room was very dusty. The bathroom had water stains on the floor, dirty silicone around the sink, dirty stains on the floor at the base of the toilet and sink, paint flaking off the ceiling and the water in both the sink and the bath was very slow to drain. The toilet did not always flush. The staff, apart from the receptionist, were not at all friendly. The breakfast was not good and the table was not set properly;no teaspoons and a dirty side plate. There were no jugs available for the milk, so we had to use a glass. No crisps or peanuts available in the bar at night time, we were told to use the vending machine, which did not have any either.
