+ L’emplacement, calme, très propre, très grand, grande terrasse avec des chaises longues et à la plage. 🏝️

- L’état des électroménagers (cuisinière et machine à café) le calcaire dans les robinets, les installations électriques (je suis vivante, mais ça fait peur😂) et la porte d’entrée nécessite d’être réparée, le grillage accroche les vêtements ou la peau, selon. Rien d’insurmontable 👍

Casa Maya is directly on the beautiful beach & a short walk to everything else. The cabana on the roof is amazing, rustic, but perfect! Private balcony, well appointed kitchen, little bathroom, comfy bed & enough storage. The staff is eager to help in any way, if you want. There’s a secret little night life in El Cuyo, talk to the tourists. We plan to come back to stay again!

We loved it, but it is rustic. Not fully sealed. We had no problems with bugs or wildlife though, so we didn’t mind. Expect cold showers with low pressure in Mexico & unpredictable internet in the north. Just the way it is. But worth it! Check-in was interesting. The property is not currently labeled with a sign but we have told the owner.

This was our 2nd time there. Location location location. We knew it was rustic but has the basics: a shower, small kitchen, bed. The patio, beachfront view is lovely. We don’t need much but also expect a baseline of amenities.

Sadly, the only improvement was a new staircase up ( safety!) The hot water heater was broken for our first 5 days and we were told it had just happened but we have photos of the heater and a copy of the previous guest who dealt with it and commented; and we were not offered any compensation and asked to pay for extra towels (they gave us 2 for two adults,) The mosquito net had tears and rips, the sheets had tears, we were given 3 pillowcases for 4 pillows, ran out of TP, and the doors and windows and screens were broken, torn, and open. (photos of record)The place needs some TLC. A staple gun and doorknobs and a few refits would do it. Honestly, we’re seasoned travelers and make the best wherever we are. Owners can’t control water supply, electricity or wifi but they can tend to the infrastructure and care of their profitable rentals. This owner played the victim and after the hot water heater was fixed we blocked everyone from our experience and settled into making the best of it. And always, polite and thankful to the hardworking ground crew!
