I stayed here for a week and got the deal with the breakfast (朝ごはんはおいしいですよ！）. Staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. Hotel room was cleaned regularly throughout my stay. The shared facilities (toilet, bathroom, lounge）were all well-maintained and homey. Too bad I never got to visit the rooftop or avail the free beer because I always got back after 7 pm! Location is also excellent -- 6 minute walk to Chiyoda Nezu Station (which is part of the Metro Subway system). Neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, perfect if you want to stay away from the more crowded areas like Shibuya or Shinjuku. I hope I can return again in the future with my family! どもありがとうございます！

**Pros** * The room was tastefully decorated with a shabby chic, mid-century style that felt warm, homey, and thoughtfully designed. * The staff were very friendly and welcoming, although they seemed a little inexperienced at times. **Cons** * The nearest station is Nezu, but you'll probably find yourself using Ueno Station more often as it's a major transport hub. Although the hotel doesn't look far away on a map, the walk can feel quite long after spending all day exploring Tokyo, especially if you're trekking back through Ueno Park each evening. That said, if Ueno Park is high on your itinerary, it's hard to ask for a better location. * The shower had visible mould that should have been cleaned more thoroughly. * - I threw away a cigarette pack with 1 cigarette left in it and the next day I received an email accusing me of smoking in the room. I live in Australia, its against the law to smoke inside anywhere here, so not sure why I would do that in someone else's country. Maybe the cleaners should spend more time cleaning the mould off the shower door and less time going through the guests trash cans.

The place looks good in pictures, the lobby, building it’s nice. Overall the room itself was clean.(however there was some yucky dirt/dust around the mirror). But this place is old. Paint comes off the walls in some places, couple of adhoc lousy cover ups for damages like wall hits, wood splints are visible. This causes an impression of a rather neglected room. There was an unpleasant smell from the pipes. There are separate taps for hot and cold water, which are hard to manage, and I’ve used such setups multiple times in my life. The water pressure in the shower changes randomly and together with the water temperature(from boiling hot to super cold in a couple of seconds, unprompted). At one point there was only cold water, even though the hot tap was fully on. I mean, I am ok to stay in such a place if it’s cheap for a max of 1/2 nights. After all just sleep there and that’s it, so it serves its purpose. Yet the cosy, home vibe experience is definitely not there.
