Really lovely property and loved that they had a cat. The rooms were beautiful and the amenities provided were great. Location was amazing as well and was super easy to get around.

The ryokan and host were so welcoming. Yuzu, the resident cat was a very welcome bonus. Yuzu is a rescued street cat, they also have some souvenir merchandise for sale that the profits go to support a cat rescue in Kyoto. I also loved the location. It was about a 10 minute walk to the Shinkansen station and about 2 minutes to other train stations, as well as tons of shops and restaurants.
There is also a shared bath/onsen located inside the ryokan, which is quite convenient.
This was my absolute favourite place I stayed in Japan. I will definitely go back.
The stairs up to the sleeping area were a little steep, so maybe not ideal for smalller kids.

The location was good. It was nice to experience the traditional Japanese Inn.
The room is small and the shower is shared and has to go downstairs.
