Beautiful area, great service, comfortable and peaceful place.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Sonnenhof Boutique-Hotel, the are is beautiful and close to many other attractions. The hosts were very welcoming. Everything was great, highly recommend for a great vacation.

The best

This was one of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip. The family that own & run this hotel are just wonderful, some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The hotel was in a suburb above the town centre with great views of town & the mountains & was a very tranquil place to be, at the same time just a short downhill walk to town. Also this suburb has it's own train station for trips to the attractions around Berchtesgaden. Our room was spacious & very clean, it also had the best shower of our trip. We had a big balcony which was a wonderful place to sit in the evening. We also had the best breakfast of our trip here, we certainly looked forward to it each morning out in the garden. For a small hotel there was a really good choice. The super nice & ever smiling Ben would come & take our order for the hot dishes (made to order by the lovely Florian) & hot drinks ( Ben also makes the best coffee😀), this family are award winning for a good reason!! Bad Reichenhall is beautiful & a very leafy town not yet over run by tourism, it has a great shopping strip, beautiful gardens & lots of water features. Highly recommend this hotel & we would go back in a heart beat.

Lovely family, very helpful runs the best house I have ever been in. Location ideal, away from main roads, perfect garden for relaxing. Clean room with luxurious bathroom. Breakfast delicious, very varied, in addition to the buffet you can order yourself a dish from an extensive menu.

Amazing stay at a superb location in between mountains.

Have to say, the stay overall was amazing. The Fuchs family were very hospitable and friendly, welcoming us and explaining about the place, activities to do around and more. The rooms are extremely spacious (thanks for the complimentary upgrade), quiet and comfy. Although this is a family run place, we felt right at home and there wasnt any privacy issues. Breakfast was lovely (Thanks Ben). Plenty of activities to do around (The fuchs recommended different things to do around) if you take a bus (nothing much near the premise except small hiking trails, or the town nearby) - Ask the team for the free bus ticket, they will issue it for you. Bus station is just 15 mins walking. Overall it was an amazing stay, and would definitely recommend it to others. (Note to the family, Thanks for the recommendation about Lake Chimsee, we went there and loved it).

Only thing I would recommend is to have bikes available at the hotel for easier mobility, could even be rented.

Very nice family hotel. Room was big. Bed comfortable. Big shower. The owners are very nice, friendly and also helpful with tips on what to do and so on. Breakfast is great, the scrambled eggs were just amazing. Parking just in front of the doors.

Hello. Regarding my reservation, I have to make complain due to the reasons : The room showing in the reservation is 49 sqm, the actual room size is 20, plus toliet and balcony not more than 30 sqm, the room information is fake, please find pictures in attachment ; I have a 1 year kid, and the Reception refuse to raise up the tempeture, the room is cold and unconfortbale; Overall speaking, I can say the room is normal airbnb style, cant say it is " Boutique hotel" , not value the price for sure.

Location was great! Just a short 10 minutes walk to town. Martin the owner was very friendly and welcoming. His son who took your breakfast orders was delightful and recommended to check out the panorama drive which we enjoyed so much. Breakfast was fantastic! They had a Buffett and also a la carte for eggs any way you like and also delicious waffles.

One of the best boutique alpine hotels in Europe

One of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Europe. The town of Bad Reichenhall was a hidden treasure, and I cannot express how comfortable this delightful hotel was. The villa is a designer hotel where the hosts have considered every aspect of the hospitality, design, and amenities in the greatest detail. The rooms were extremely luxurious and comfortable, and the view over the mountains was majestic. Even the bathrooms were exceptional. Outside, a beautiful garden provided a very tranquil setting. The breakfast was excellent. A wonderful selection of food choices. The coffee was delicious. And the garden setting for breakfast below the mountains was exceptionally beautiful. The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, and I really must compliment them on their choices in the drinks and catering for the hotel. The beers, wines, and breakfast range was really selected with a great deal of care. I look forward to returning to this beautiful hotel for which I have nothing but praise.

Quaint Hotel with great views, food and hosts!

Breakfast was hearty, location was superb. It was very quiet but just a 10 minutes walk from downtown and a 20 minutes drive from the Bavarian Alps. The hospitality of the owner and her family was amazing making our stay very enjoyable. Would strongly recommend anyone who is in the area to try out this accommodation!

The room is newly renovated and all quality amenities. The terrace has a wonderful view of the Bavaria Alps. It’s a very professional family hotel. Its breakfast is very tasty. The walk from hotel to town is very scenic

Superb

Lovely, homely accommodation run by the delightful Fuchs family. They made us feel very welcome. Exceptional breakfast. Would highly recommend. The room (room 1) and en suite were large and well-equipped. We had a balcony views of the mountains. The bed was comfortable, though it was a king rather than the twin beds we were expecting. There’s a small front garden with sun loungers and outdoor seating. For breakfast there’s a huge choice of cured meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, jams, cereal, yoghurt and fruit. They cook fresh waffles and/or eggs. Nice coffee. They have fridges with a great choice of beers & other drinks at reasonable prices. It’s a 10-15 minute walk down to town and takes a little longer than that coming back as it’s all uphill and fairly steep.

Property on second floor does not have a lift (not a problem for us because we were two young persons with just a few pieces of luggage). Road to the centre is a bit steep - again, not a problem for us, but if person has mobility difficulties (or tired) I suggest you get a taxi

Beautiful family run villa that makes you feel special from the first contact. You find touches that only the eye of the owner can provide. Excellent location to explore the area of Berchtesgaden. And the breakfast is high quality and lots of options. Restaurants for dinner are available 15 min walking distance.

Perfect for a relaxing getaway in the mountains

From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the friendly and helpful service and were offered plenty of tips and advice on locations to visit whilst in the area. The room itself was of a very high quality. We were up in the attic with an amazing shower and the best views of the mountain when you wake up in the morning. The room also has a very reasonably priced mini bar with drinks options and an honesty bar at reception with an excellent selection of wine and local beers to enjoy either on the terrace or in your room. Breakfast was delicious and featured a selection of cold meats and cheeses or freshly cooked eggs and waffles on the sunny terrace. We would love to return if we are ever in the area again and highly recommend this spot for a relaxing mini break away from busy city life.
