Terrible experience with owner and Booking.com

Was not as described. Unit was not clean, no washing machine, not on the ground floor (45 steps to unit). Poor communication, no instructions, no useable closet space. Booking.com was not helpful.

Everything, we left the property in less than 15 hours.

No washing machine as stated. We were aware it was a small unit but it was difficult moving things around to change functions of the space.

Monterosso is a beautiful place, the whole area is spectacular.

When we got into the property there was no electricity. In the owner's notes he stated to contact Roberta that lived close by. Roberta was not home, come to find out she has a job now and does not take care of the property. I called the "emergency" number the owner had given and even emailed him several times to let him know there was no electricity. No answers. After almost 2 hours of waiting Roberta came home and was nice enough to show us the breaker box so that we could turn on the electricity. The owner sent an email at 9:30 p.m. blaming the outage on a brownout. That's completely understandable but, he should have had a note in the property stating where to find the breaker box should the electricity be out. All the other properties around us had electricity. We have since received several emails still blaming the outage on a brownout but never did he apologize or give the location of the breaker box, he got rather ugly about the whole situation. Thank goodness for Roberta, she was extremely helpful. There are notes inside on where to turn on the hot water heater and a couple of other items. All he needed was another note or even return a phone call.

Small but tidy apartment in an ideal location.

Beautiful little studio apartment in the old part of Monterosso. There were endless restaurants, bars and cafes nearby, as well as a small market for the essentials if you wanted to cook. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station (which is also where you get tickets for the Cinque Terre walk).

The fold down bed was a bit of a novelty and there was limited space for luggage.

The room was extremely uncomfortably small and there was only 2 of us. The pull down bed was in the tiny kitchen. We used the tiny couch to put 1 suitcase the other on the floor and no more room to sit. Okay we got what we got BUT….We were called horribly nasty names and was insulted by the owner because I didn’t provide my drivers license quick enough. I did send it but it kept coming back undeliverable. Roberta was kind but she should of asked for our information at checked in…she was sure quick to ask for tax money. She doesn’t speak English but should of provided a paper to tell us what she needed. There is an 18” step down immediately stepping off your bed. from the bed/kitchen to get off the bed so if your not careful when you wake up you I cani fall down. The 41 steps up are not bad if you don’t have problems walking. The directions he gave are good and the location was good. The room would of been acceptable for half the price he’s charging and would need to be honest on what your getting, which Not Much!

The location was good and it was very quaint and quirky. The instructions we received for arrival were great. Very detailed. Roberta was friendly and helpful.

The property was too small and it was only one living space. The bed was comfortable but it drops down from the kitchen wall. To get in and out of the bed, you only have 15 cm between the bed and the kitchen units. It was heavy to put away each morning. Larger people than us would not have been able to manage such a small space. The outside door lock was broken and not secure.

Little Gem in Monterosso

Host Roberta is fantastic. Location is very central and gives you a feel for centre of town yet still private enough to enjoy quiet moments. Apartment has everything you need. It is a tad small if you are big but that is minor given its location and other amenities. Directions to apartment were exact and easy to follow.

Maybe the size but that is minor. I'm over 6 ft tall so had to be careful moving around a bit. With time I got used to it.

Quiet but central

Location great right in centre, and for me Monterosso is the best of the Cinque Terre towns. Got great directions and so much helpful guidance by E mail. It was a very quiet neighbourhood and we slept very well. Short walk to train station. Good value for money.

quality- price is excellent. The place is tiny, so max is 2 adults plus child. it has a tiny kitchenette and fridge. we didn't cook though. the outside space is in the tiny yard co-living with the host and other people at n 22. bed lining, towels and everything is very very clean. host was kind enough to let us leave our belongings in the yard till our train departure. great location right in the heart of Monterosso. recommended.

Läget var centralt och låg nära trevliga restauranger mm. Det var lugnt område

Det var smutsigt och dåligt städat. Det låg kvar hårstrån här och var, på golvet i badrummet, i köket. Det luktade ofräscht. Aircondition funkade inte. När jag påtalade detta svarade han slutligen att det kan vara så att batterierna är slut och tyckte att jag skulle åtgärda det genom att gå till affären och köpa batterier själv!! Jag gjorde det men funkade ändå inte. Han sa att det finns ju en fläkt i alla fall. Kaffemaskinen funkade inte heller. Innergården som du går genom var full med gamla sopor och skräp. Inte så semesterdrömmigt. Om man skulle använda kokplattan fick man lyfta ner micron på golvet. De rymdes inte på bänken samtidigt. Ägaren var dålig på att svara och kommunikationen var dålig. Vi skulle ha bott där två nätter men drog då fort vi kunde. Jag skulle absolut inte rekommendera det här boendet till någon. Det var riktigt sunkigt. Vi hamnade med dubbla boendekostnader för det gick inte att bo där helt enkelt.

La ubicación

Muy incómodo , no había lugar para salir de la cama , al bajar la cama no abre la heladera ni lugar para desplazarcse. La cocina con un solo toma corriente para 5 electrodomésticos y todo amontonado.El Placard estaba lleno de acolchados y mantas sin lugar para nuestra ropa que quedó en las valijas. Hay un modular cerrado con llave no permitiendo poder usarlo.La persiana de la ventana hay que levantarla con la mano y atarla con unas tiras para poder tener iluminación natural. El baño no tiene estantes para dejar los elementos de aseo.
