About this house rental
Welcome to The Anchor. With 1,524 sf, this property has 5 bedrooms, an enclosed loft and 3 baths in a waterfront patio home which offers all the amenities for whatever type of lake vacation you are looking for. Located in Bernard's Landing the property will meet virtually all of your vacation needs.
In addition to sleeping quarters and 3 bathrooms, The Anchor offers a large living room, dining room, updated kitchen, a small den perfect as a separate living space for kids, a mudroom with full size washer & dryer and extra refrigerator, a private front patio and a large multi-level deck with direct access to the water. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided.
The 2-story living room, providing wide open views of the water, has a Smart TV and loads of space for the whole family. The kitchen contains a refrigerator w/ ice maker and filtered water dispenser, range, microwave and dishwasher. The den has a Smart TV with a Blu-ray player. In the Mudroom there is a full size washer & dryer, a second full size refrigerator w/ ice maker and a pantry for storing oversized pots, pans and dishes to accommodate those family meals.
The front patio provides a quiet retreat perfect for reading and relaxing. The multi-level back deck provides outdoor eating space, gas grill, Adirondack chairs and lounges for soaking up the sun and enjoying the views of the lake and Smith Mountain. Just off of the deck, between the unit and the water, is a large flat space for outdoor activities. At water's edge is a dock for your use for swimming or mooring your boat or Jet Ski.
Also provided are a kayaks, a paddle board and corn hole boards for your use.
Sleeping Spaces:
• The Captain's Quarters, located on the ground floor, features a King Size bed with an en-suite bathroom.
• Pier 7, also located on the first floor, features a Queen Size bed and direct access to the private front patio.
• The Crow's Nest, located on the second level, features (3) twin XL beds.
• The Boatswain's Berth, also located on the second floor, features a King Size bed.
• The Cubby, on the second floor as well, features a twin bed.
The property at Bernard's Landing is located on a secluded cove creating a great spot for boating as well as swimming off the dock or at the beach, both just steps from The Anchor. The property provides:
3 Pools - 2 outdoor and 1 indoor, as well as a hot tub

We loved our stay at the Anchor. The townhouse itself is beautiful, and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and comfort of the home. The property is exactly as described and is clean and well maintained. The owners are great, leaving detailed instructions in their Welcome Book-with everything you need to know about the property and the area. We were really impressed with the well-stocked kitchen, the separate TV area, and all the provisions for indoor and outdoor activities. The location on the lake is perfect, with breathtaking views of the mountains and lake. The back deck provided just the right amount of shade and sun and overlooked the large back yard and the dock. My young grandsons really enjoyed having the choice to swim by jumping off the dock, going to the lake side beach area, or to the pool.All in all, the attention to detail in every facet of the rental was beyond any that we have had in past rental experiences, and we hope to stay there again. Thank you for a great vacation! (Also, having my very active 4 and 6 year old grandsons for a week, your gift of a bottle of wine was really appreciated!! :-)

Our favorite place at Bernard’s, and we’ve stayed at a few. Great layout, gorgeous view, nice big grassy area for kids to play, quiet cove, well-decorated and well-stocked.

Another excellent year at The Anchor! Joe and Angie go above and beyond to ensure your stay is excellent. The updates made this year provide a stunning view of the lake!

This was our 2nd year staying at The Anchor, and like last year, it was excellent! The location is perfect, the house is well set up (recent renovations made it even better), and Joe’s communication tops it all off. We can’t wait for next year!
