About this house rental
'Our Point of View' is located in Saunders Point Neighborhood on Smith Mountain Lake, near the SML Dam - buoy marker C2. It's nestled in a large cove where you can enjoy jet-skiing and water-skiing without entering the nearby main body of the lake.
You'll be able to relax with an early morning cup of coffee, while enjoying the full view of the lake and Smith Mountain. And you can do this while sitting in the lovely, spacious kitchen, or on the comfortable front deck -- or lounging near the water on the large deck.
The very gentle slope of the large backyard leads to the large dock where everyone can enjoy the sun and water. There is a covered deck that allows some shade from the midday sun. There is also space for you tie a rental boat to a floating dock.
The house has four bedrooms: with two queen beds on the main floor, two twins and a queen in the loft, and a queen bed in a basement bedroom. Plus, another queen bunk bed in the basement living space (2 beds). Please bring your own linens, as the are not provided.
The kitchen is clean and efficient, has all the appliances you need, and plenty of storage in cabinets.
Smith Mountain Lake fishing is spectacular -- with record catches each year. For golfing enthusiasts, there are several challenging local golf courses.

The location and view is spectacular. The house is very clean and fit our family nicely. The loft with the two beds was great for my young kids and the two bedrooms on the main floor were good but they are right next to each other so you don’t have a ton of privacy. One thing to note is that sheets and towels are not provided. We found out when we got there that it is indicated in the amenities list, but I never saw it anywhere in the listing when I booked or leading up to the stay. So I’m putting it here for folks so that hopefully you don’t have the same issues we did. All in a great stay!

Property is in a great location on a beautiful and calm part of the lake. The house isn't huge but is laid out well and worked great for our two families. The stairs downstairs (where the 2nd bathroom is located) are a bit tricky. We had an issue with an odor in the house when we first arrived but the owners were very responsive and able to resolve it.

A nice property with an excellent view and dock for boating and swimming. The only thing to note for families with children under 3 is the banisters on the loft and deck are not child proof vertical banisters, but horizontal ones. Unsupervised children could easily fall through.

This place is well thought out and well made making it a very lovely place to stay. We took a family vacation here with our grown up children. The common areas were spacious and the living/family room looks out onto the lake without the sun streaming into the house (they angled the windows well--very clever). This room opened up to the best deck we've ever experienced. You could be in the shade or the sun. The step, as you can see in the picture, can serve as a seating area. It just merges into the grassy area which leads to the lake. Very beautiful. We're swimmers and appreciated that this property is on a quiet cove, but plenty deep enough to swim. They had a good AC, which didn't really need except in the late afternoon. The place is well made.We found the bedrooms quiet and private and the beds were comfortable. The place was very clean. In fact, it's the cleanest place we've ever rented. We typically rent up in Maine for the summer. This is the first time we rented a home in Virginia. We thought the price was reasonable.
