First the big negative: Rooms facing on Via Del Corso are extremely noisy, and not just on the weekend. Garbage trucks, deliveries, street sweeping, kids hanging out -- it went on all night long on a Monday night. I've lived in NYC, so I'm fine with "sounds of the city," but this was like trying to sleep on the loading dock of an Amazon distribution center. Adding insult to injury, the hotel charges *more* for these rooms. Mine was marketed as a "Junior Suite with Historic View." Stay away from this room category at all costs. Other than the noise issue, there's a lot to like about Elizabeth Unique Hotel. The staff could not be nicer, a la carte breakfast was excellent, and location was terrific, assuming your priorities are art, architecture, and shopping. (It's a little far from the ancient ruins, but you have to prioritize in Rome.) We chose the hotel largely for its decor and art collection, and those did not disappoint. Bottom line: In a different room off the Via Del Corso, I might have loved this hotel. Instead, I stared at the ceiling all night, wondering why any hotel would put its second-highest room category in the noisiest part of the building.
