The Mayfair guest house self catering

Very clean, comfortable accommodation and ensuite. We didn't use the kitchen and dining area but they looked very well kept. The delightful young lady who worked there took great care to ensure we were well settled and everything was OK for us on arrival. 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Southampton but the location was quiet and you didn't feel you were near the centre of a major city. Would definitely recommend.

Clean, convenient. Good bed and ensuite. Good parking right outside.

Clean uptodate with decor. Bathroom lovely and clean, the bed was firm, the pillows were good. Bed linen and sheets good quality and nice. Tea and coffee facilities with kettle. Hairdryer too and wardrobe space if needed. Did not use kitchen facilities. But would definitely come back again.

Friendly and helpful staff and room was acceptable for what we needed it for. Good communication and instructions for complicated digitised door and room access. Security was good (as long as there were no technical issues which is always possible for digital systems!).

The bathroom shower rail supporting the shower head was very wobbly and almost broken so I wouldn't dare move it in case it fell off and I wasn't able to use the shower. There wasn't a bath mat for outside the shower so the floor was very slippery without one. The soap dish hadn't been cleaned (it was high up so couldn't be seen from the shower). The tiles on the floor in the bathroom hadn't been grouted properly so were rough with bare feet and the bathroom facilities need a good deep clean and refurb. The photos of the bathroom didn't represent this. I had great difficulty in accessing the main window in the bedroom to open it due to the positioning of the dressing table so close in front of the window. All comments very picky I know, but for the price I would expect better quality for the bathroom
