We didn't have breakfast but the option was there for us, location was very good we walked into York City.

It's a great place to stay when visiting York, with parking
It used to do the best cooked breakfasts, sadly it's now self service, with an option for a rather disappointing cooked burger.
This is the only thing that stops the Tower guesthouse being 10 out of 10.

Breakfast facilities had changed, had to go and find complimentary drinks refills or ask for more, dark sheets on bed ( should always be white so as to tell they are clean )
Booked this in May 2025 when breakfast was included, we were sent an email the week before arriving to inform us of the change and with an option to cancel if we wished ( at such short notice don't think we wanted to be hunting for somewhere else to stay) Was also told we would receive a breakfast voucher because we had already paid for the breakfast, then when we arrived the host Tony told us just to tell him what we wanted and he would pay but not how much we could have, which then left us feeling uncomfortable if we kept asking for a drink or more food. Tony even forgot that we had already paid himself as he was about to charge us for breakfast on the first morning, which put us off going for breakfast again. As I have said the complimentary tea, coffee, milk and sugar we would expect to be replaced when the room was cleaned but apparently not.
