Il padrone di casa e la figlia Matilda sono persone eccezionali: frutta fresca tutte le mattine, direttamente dal loro orto/giardino. La casa era pulitissima, completa di tutto. Salviette e addirittura salviettoni per la spiaggia. Nel frigorifero acqua fresca e vino al nostro arrivo. Posizione meravigliosa in mezzo ad un uliveto. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus inmitten von Olivenbäumen. Die Eltern der Eigentümerin haben uns mit vielen Leckereien versorgt. Als wir ankamen waren im Kühlschrank Wasser, Wein, Butter und frische Eier. Große Flasche Olivenöl, Salz, Pfeffer, Gewürze, Kaffee (Filter u. Nescafé) sowie Obst und Gemüse alles vorhanden. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen schönen Kuchen und leckere Kekse. Auch in den kommenden Tagen gab es regelmäßig Apfelsinen u. Zitronen Artischocken. Und des öfteren kretische Leckereien.
Ein kleiner Bäckerladen war in ca. 700 m gut zu erreichen. Einen großen Supermarkt gibt es in Kissamos.
Ca. 600 m in die andere Richtung gibt es ein gutes kretische Restaurant ( Maracaibo).
Direkt gegenüber auf der anderen Straßenseite ein Winzer,der auch gute einheimische Weine verkauft,
Wir haben uns in den 3 Wochen sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles im Allen eine perfekte Unterkunft.
Für uns gab es keine Beanstandungen.

Matilda's house was a truly wonderful place to stay at. I visited with my 3yo daughter and we really enjoyed our time. The house is very tastefully furnished and has everything you need, very thoughtful. The outside area also has a nice green garden with sunbeds, a hammock and a little swing for children which you do (or back then did not) see on the photos, so the place is even better than from what you see online. Placed in the middle of an olive grove, it is a very calm retreat to discover all the nice places in Western Crete. Matilda's parents, who live on the premises, would regularly bring us treats from the own garden or the surroundings, and were very lovely overall (and with my daughter), while still respecting our privacy. It really felt like home.
For the two of us, we had LOTS of space, which was also very nice, but the place is ideal for families with up to 3 or 4 kids, or two couples, or 4(-5) good friends, I would say.
No negative for us, but:
- Do not expect an urban setting (although there is a nice taverna still in walking distance), and you will probably want to have a car.
- You should be ok with the cats visiting you (although not the inside of the house itself, just outside), particularly if you give them food, but my daughter obviously loved them.
