Azure Beach Villas

The space

The water that leaked from the shower spilled under the bathroom door and to the bottom of the stairwell where we had a fall which was incredibly dangerous. We told the owner and they said they would fix it. But a box watch out as the fall could have been worse than it was.

Everything was fine for our short stay. You have to have a car to travel to any restaurants/shops in nearby Kastelli. We had a car so this was fine for us.

We had a wonderful stay and came away with nothing but positive memories. The villa is in a fantastic beachfront location, less than 100 metres from the water, within a small complex of modern villas arranged in clusters with shared pools and barbecue areas. It almost feels like a tiny village. It offered exactly the balance we wanted: quiet, private and peaceful, while still close to local towns, restaurants and amenities. Our villa was spacious, clean and very well equipped. Everything was of a good standard and worked exactly as it should, including the air conditioning, Wi-Fi, appliances and showers. Coffee pods, dishwasher tablets and toiletries for the first few days were a thoughtful touch. With two generously sized bedrooms and bathrooms, it would comfortably accommodate four people. Housekeeping every three days was perfect for us and consistently to a high standard. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, from the cleaning team to the pool cleaner greeting us each morning. A particular mention must go to our host, who stayed beyond her normal finishing time to personally welcome us after our delayed arrival. She was on site every day and always warm, friendly and helpful. The setting was probably the highlight. Hearing the waves gently lapping the shore at night was wonderfully calming and idyllic. There are restaurants and a beachside taverna within walking distance, while the nearby town is only a short drive away. As elsewhere in Crete, there are stray cats around — we chose to feed a few, so naturally acquired some occasional visitors! We also saw a few ants, easily managed by keeping food surfaces clean and never an issue for us. The villa was competitively priced and represented very good value. We rarely return to the same destination, but this ticked so many of our boxes that we certainly wouldn't rule out returning. We would happily recommend it to friends.

Nothing of any significance. There were a few small signs of age and use, as you would expect, but nothing that detracted from our stay or that we would consider worthy of criticism.

The apartment was clean and equipped. The kitchen had it all. The beach was good.

The pool was small for all five villas. Had to pay 15euros!! for a seat at the beach that was located just in front of the facility! Cleaning services were not included.
