Peaceful and charming stay

We had a lovely five-night stay at Owl Cottage in Stellenbosch. We really enjoyed the peaceful nature and beautiful garden, and the house was comfortable and nicely decorated. It felt welcoming and relaxing—an ideal place to unwind. We would happily stay here again.

Very relaxing and quiet

we were met By Diana the host, who was lovely. the apartment was in a beautiful English garden setting and lovely to walk around. we would should have stayed longer, as it was a lovely area. we had lunch at the "Klien Alto" vineyard which was amazing and really good value.. about 30mins from Languedoc. being dog lovers we had a lovely welcome from Dianas two dogs. we loved this property and would definitely stay again...

you would have to drive to get to any restaurants, but having a car, this was not really an issue..

Amazing relaxing stay!

Amazing relaxing stay with gorgeous surroundings, loved the hot tub and the fire pit for brai’s! Bed very comfortable, bathroom very clean, lovely couch to sit on. Could have stayed for weeks. Thanks!

A tranquil oasis in a beautiful countryside setting.

Beautiful location surrounded by trees and flowers on a doorstep to some excellent wine estates and Stellenbosch town. Diana is a perfect host, super friendly and attentive. The bed was comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We loved relaxing on the verandah listening to birdsong and being greeted by a pair of uber cute Ridgebacks. There is a great shopping centre nearby in Jamestown and Diana recommended a lot of interesting places to us. Honestly, we didn't want to leave! :)

A perfect place to stay

For us this was a perfect stay. The cottage has everything you can wish for. The two Ridgebacks was the cherry on the pie, those dogs are so great to spend time with. The area is perfect for hiking, eating out and visiting as many wine farms you can wish for but what made our stay absolutely perfect was that we met one of the friendliest persons you can imagine. Thank you Di, we will meet again.

A most beautifully situated and comfortable stay close to the Stellenbosch winelands.

The hostess is very good at information sharing. It is most beautifully situated cottage; peace, tranquility and nature surrounds one. Languedoc is also so close to all the services, shopping, wineries and restaurants in and around Stellenbosch which makes it a very conveniently situated property. The cottage we stayed in has everything to make one’s stay comfortable and the beautiful horses on the property are a delight to the soul. Highly recommend a stay!

We'll be back

An interesting format of staying on a farm with horses and other forest animals. A wonderful and friendly hostess and her loyal and reliable four-legged friends! Diana had a bottle of wine for us to enjoy that evening, and she was a very hospitable and pleasant woman! We spent two wonderful and romantic evenings in nature, sitting on a sun lounger outside our room.

Our cheese was eaten by the older dog one evening, but we weren't upset at all, we even laughed. The next evening they were more attentive and only drank wine on the street)

Beautiful little cabin in the middle of nature. Peaceful, spotless, perfect. Best sleep i’ve had in a while. Lovely to wake up and see horses roaming about.

Quiet and spacious cabin on a horse farm

Fabulous space in the Owl Cabin. Very quiet surroundings on a horse farm, private access. Comfortable king-size bed, outdoor seating, washing machine, TV. Close to Stellenbosch and great vineyards. Restaurant Mont Marie is a 2-minute drive across the road. The owner, Di, lives on the farm and is very kind and responsive.

We would happily return! A small point would be cleaning up the outdoor space from dried leaves etc., but honestly not a big deal.

Quiet and Serene

The Cabin was absolutely amazing! We LOVED staying there and will definitely go back. There really is nothing to complain about. Everything we needed was there and it was clean and comfortable. When we were there it was very cold in the evening, so the fireplace was amazing and warmed the entire cabin up nicely. The farm is very peaceful and quiet and it was awesome to see all the squirrels running around and the lovely horses in the field. Just sitting there, watching them, was relaxing. The walk to the river was amazing and how beautiful it is there!!!! We also got a very warm welcome from the owner, Di, and her two lovely dogs. I was hoping the cat would come visit, but sadly he/she never turned up. Hopefully next time.

The room was very comfortable. The surroundings are very beautiful and restful. The deck by the river is a wonderful place to cool off.

The shower head needs to be fixed to stop a water leak.

The views were great, especially during the walk to the river. Having a variety of things/programmes to watch in TV, having the power even after Loadshedding hit. Also just having more than one option of keeping the room/bed warm. And privacy was respected.

During the walkabout to the river, there seemed to be quite a few dog faeces on the walk paths.

It was a brief one-night stay, that met our expectations.

Very quiet and pretty location. Charming host, and we loved the dogs :-). Suite was supplied with a few essentials (tea, milk, ...) which was nice. Load-shedding didn't affect essentials,

Mattress was a little hard for me, and my wife would have liked a shower cap. No big deal.

The perfect relaxing weekend getaway to recharge & refresh with beautiful scenery all round.

Such a beautiful little cabin in the woods, with a small fireplace inside & fire pit outside. You are surrounded by nature, lots of squirrels & horses in the paddocks around the cabin & beautiful scenery everywhere you look. The added bonuses were a really nice shower and the view from the bed.

Really comfortable accommodation, Di is a great host. The property had solar/battery backup so we did not notice Load shedding a great bonus for us. Very comfortable extra large bed and outside seating area
