Disappointed - expected better

Breakfast is good. Restaurant staff were friendly. Location/views are very good.

Accommodation at Vila d’este was a disappointing experience based on expectations: on arrival, there was one small bottle of courtesy water in the room. We were told this was policy and further could be purchased from the mini-bar. Staff were aloof. No further water was provided when the room was cleaned each day. The coffee pods in the room were chargeable (and not genuine Nespresso as stated). The hotel directory offers a laundry service including itemised prices. In reality, clients are required to take their own items to a launderette 10 min walk and collect them later. You are also unable to purchase a glass of wine if in the public space by the pool. They only sell it by the bottle. We upgraded to a garden room (we stayed for 5 nights) which was spacious enough but the wardrobe was small and there were no drawers or shelves to unpack clothes. There are numerous flights of (uneven) steps to access the front of the hotel. Would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

The property is beautiful with a nice view - everything is given to have some relaxing and luxurious holidays. Surrounding is easy accessible with great restaurants and activities. Rooms are nicely designed and pretty - depending which room you get.

We had booked a higher category with a big bathroom as our friends. Unfortunately for the same price category, there were huge differences in the room size, bathrooms size and outside area which is a bit disappointing. Our first room was super small and did not had represented the category we booked. We asked for a transfer and they were not able to change directly - only the next day. The food and breakfast in the restaurant would need some improvement, including the friendliness of the staff in the restaurant. We waited long times to get the ordered food also the taste and freshness of some products needs to be improved.

A stunning place to stay

Really nice hotel with great areas to chill! There is one warm and one cold pool which was very handy and there was a huge selection at breakfast which was always a highlight. The position was perfect to explore the surroundings, too.

Some minor adjustments could me made e.g. only one functioning plug socket in the room and quite pricey coffee capsules in the room that could easily be included in a hotel in this price range.

Every detail is thought out and perfect. From the moment you walk in, you don’t want to leave! Very friendly staff, clean facilities, small personal touches, to the delicious food and drinks. It was everything we wanted and more!

Memorable stay in Búzios – staff make all the difference!

Everything about Deste Hotel was exceptional. The room was comfortable, the location was fantastic, and the restaurant staff were especially outstanding. One woman from Uruguay really stood out with her warm service and professionalism—she made my mornings extra pleasant. The whole stay felt relaxed, welcoming, and well-organized.

A small thing—coffee in the room wasn’t complimentary—but this didn’t affect my overall enjoyment at all.

My wife and I come to this place for a couple decades now and it[s always beyond our expectation. Best location in town, great breakfast, upgraded restaurant and the master suite is one of a kind.

A beautiful boutique hotel.

Great location close to the centre of the resort with many shops bars and restaurants close by. The layout and decoration are stylish and the staff very helpful. The sunset view from room 12 balcony is very special. Breakfast is nicely presented and varied.

Very little storage space in our room. A few drawers or shelves would have meant we didn’t have to store clothes on the floor of the wardrobe. Restaurant wine prices were very high compared to numerous other surrounding restaurants. This may be why the restaurant was empty most lunch and dinner times.

Everything was fantastic as last year.

Breakfast staff friendly and views exceptional but a hotel of this level needs better bread, pastries, granola and coffee Infinity pool wasn’t quite full and flowers were overgrown ruining the effect . Last year was perfect. Our check in was delayed one hour because the hotel was short staffed. They should have bent over backwards to make us feel welcome at that point but didn’t :)

Property is beautiful and well maintained. The views are wonderful. Breakfast is diverse and delicious. The restaurant overall was very good. The restaurant staff wonderful. The front of house staff varied. Some speak English well, others barely. I had booked the main suite (master suite) online. They claimed I have booked one of the junior suites, which are nice, but not what I was expecting. There we three suites advertised, I picked the most expensive one, assuming it was the main suite. But no. Very strange and no apologies. If you want the main suite, you have to ask and book the master suite and receive confirmation with it mentioned in the email, otherwise you are out of luck.

Breathtaking views in charming boutique hotel

Great location with amazing views and delicious restaurant! Best rooftop view for a bar in Búzios. Great events outside like live music and DJ which elevates the experience in the hotel. Room was nice and spacious.

Everything was perfect except for one dinner

We only ate dinner in the hotel one evening in which I ordered lobster with linguine. But the linguine tasted like ramen noodles and the lobster did not taste fresh as I had from other local restaurants.

disappointing!

stunning location - wonderful view - lovely pools.

the location of our room was very disappointing - terrace looked into a bamboo wall. there are a serious number of steps up from the promenade to the main hotel and the back entrance is not very conducive as an alternative. before we were allowed to leave, reception insisted on having our room checked - never had that anywhere before - and I still left my own beach towel amongst the hotel ones!

all we did here was sleep and wash. we were always running out to find something to do because we did not like the facil

the location is everything. the Wi-Fi was really good and strong. the food was good too.

there was mold in the bathroom under the wood table. there were countless insects in the rooms. the staff was just ok. when you complain about something, they’ll say sorry and do nothing about it. lastly, the cleaners were mediocre at best.
