This place is outstanding on so many levels - location, comfort, furnishing & decor, but especially hospitality. Both hosts were extremely friendly, polite and provided an excellent service. They provided many great local recommendations for activities and food. The breakfast was outstanding and overall we felt very spoilt. If you care about quality and real hospitality this is your place. It’s really perfect!

Close to all the action, this gorgeous B&B has something to delight at every turn

This was one of the loveliest places we’ve ever stayed. Both Michael and John were incredibly friendly and had lots of recommendations to make the most of our stay. Michael even called to make dinner reservations for us on the weekend. Staying in a restored historic building was really special, and every room had some detail that was interesting and beautiful. The breakfast was generous and had lots of variety - we did not go hungry!

A little piece of luxury in Bruges.

The building was stunning architecturally and the interior decor was authentic and beautiful, particularly the breakfast room. The host( John) was very welcoming and extremely knowledgable about the city...where to eat etc. Breakfast was fantastic

Highly recommended for anybody visiting Bruges

This B&B was perfect for our trip to Bruges. The location is excellent, walkable from the train station through the park and just a few minutes to the main squares. The property is a beautiful building that has been restored by the owners. Our host John was brilliant from start to finish, giving us loads of useful tips over breakfast which was also very nice. We will definitely be back!

Fully enjoyed visiting Bruges, the B&B host was a real bonus with expert local knowledge and advice.

The host was excellent, extremely helpful and obliging. Someone who understands how to treat guests and make them feel welcome. Breakfast was good quality, the bedroom clean and reasonably well appointed. The property location is perfect for seeing the sites that Bruges has to offer. No need for taxi or bus.

Perhaps another chest of drawers in the bedroom we used would have been welcome.

The hosts went out of their way to provide useful information about Bruges. The breakfast was outstanding...fresh fruit with wonderful yogurt, eggs in various ways, fresh breads, cheeses and hams. Electronic key pads on front door and bedroom door are extremely handy, no keys to keep track of.

This is a beautiful property close to the centre. It was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. Our host was incredibly friendly and informative and clearly loved hosting visitors to this beautiful city. The breakfasts were superb and nothing was too much trouble.

Superb B & B Huis T Schaep in Bruges and exceeded expectations

Absolutely everything was perfect about our stay at B & B Huis T Schaep. From the moment Michael started to show us on a map what to do where to go you knew everything would be perfect about our stay. John as well would chat with you and always very nice and very helpful with everything. Also Bruges is a very busy place and so easy where we were to to get to the shop and restaurants and yet the street Huis T Schaep is in is nice and quiet but beautiful inside and such a charming place. Food was perfectly done and John was so helpful in making you what you want. And the price for the stay was also really good when you consider how good the place is. Michael also gave us an upgraded room which had a 52 inch Television and a superb sized room and the shower and everything was superbly done. And also what was brilliant was from Huis T Schaep me and my girlfriend Geraldine walked with our case to the Station and was directly just walked for 15 minutes where we always needed a mini cab so 100% sure we will be going back next year and cannot wait. A couple we meet said the same thing so many good reviews have been left and so many people say good things about Michael and John that the very high rating cannot be not true as they are so good with you. Would recommend this play to any one and even if you only go to Hotels try this B & B for once you will love the place.

Tranquil and beautiful stay in Brugge!

Beautiful suit with antique decor , with modern bath, including tub. The staff was second to none! Michael, the manager was extremely gracious and helpful, including with our heavy luggage. He went above and beyond in his assistance in all our needs. Location was ideal, but easy access to city center.

Elegant, historical, and charming

John and his brother are hoteliers of the highest caliber. You can tell how much attention to detail went into the space, with period-appropriate pieces throughout the property. We had a truly lovely stay and experience here. Their recommendations were invaluable, and when we continued on to Amsterdam, John provided some wonderfully unique suggestions. Breakfast was a real treat — the pastries were excellent, and the dishes were both delicious and satisfying. A charming stay overall; we would return in a heartbeat and hope they open more properties with the same warmth and character.

Beautiful, unique, and friendly B&B

The owners and family were exceptionally friendly and helpful and tried to do everything they could to make my stay perfect. From the checking-in process, when they shared their recommendations and went through the city map with me until I was checking out when I was also able to leave my luggage there while I went to explore some more. The breakfast was outstanding, and I was so sad that I was always too full to be able to try everything offered. Also loved the location. It was about 10 minutes walk (with short legs) to the main square and most of the other main sights, and 3 minutes to a main shopping area. I only had time to try 2 of the bars that were within 5 minutes walk from the B&B that were also amazing - one with an amazing atmosphere and the other a beautiful cocktail bar. I felt safe walking around that area relatively late by myself (whilst avoiding tiny, quiet side streets). The history of the house, with its antiques and gorgeous breakfast room, made it a privilege to stay there while being comfortable with the modern bathrooms and AC.

The bed was a little hard, and the pillows were a little flat. However, I didn't mention that to the owner/family, so they didn't have the opportunity to correct that. There were enough pillows so that I could double/triple up, so that wasn't a huge problem. It was a shame that there is no elevator as I would have loved to stay in the top bedroom suite (although my room was beautiful too) as the top set of stairs is a little tight. However, that is the trade off with an historic home.

Best place to stay whilst in Bruge

Extremely clean and well looked after. John and his brother Micheal were very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us some great places to go which we had never been to before, and this was our 4th visit. We would definitely always stay here when we come to Bruge as we love it, and this B&B was the best place we have stayed in. The breakfast was exceptional, all fresh and cooked when ordered, and there was so much offered. The B&B was immaculate.

The Best of the Best in Bruges

The owner sets a platinum standard right from the beginning, showing us the facilities and giving us tips on dinners and sights. Our room was spectacular, a super comfy bed, amazing furnishings and lots of light. The bathroom has double sinks, a standalone deep soaking tub and a walk-in shower. Breakfast was gourmet and plentiful. The staff was so attentive, and even helped us with laundry (we'd been traveling for more than a week). This is the best place to stay in Bruges.

A magical getaway in a historic, listed home with the best host ever.

I can't say enough good things about Huis 'T Schaep and about John, one of the owners and our host. John and Rob have restored the former home and studio of famous glass artist Samuel Coucke with such love and attention. It felt like we were staying in an exquisite home of friends who couldn't do enough for us. The art and stained glass were museum quality--I couldn't stop taking pictures of everything. The breakfast was outstanding, and I highly recommend people include it. The room where breakfast is served is enough to warrant a '10' rating for this property. The location was excellent, as well, minutes away from everything. Definitely ask John for his recommendations for dining and where to buy hand-made chocolates (rather than the more commercial places).

We loved everything about the property except getting there from the train station. We walked when we arrived, but we took a taxi when we left. While this property is within walking distance of the train station, the historic cobblestones are everywhere, and it really isn't pleasant to have to roll one's bag over them for long. We learned the hard way.
