Nice breakfast but not four star rooms

It is advertised as a four star which I would say is correct for the breakfast buffe (fresh honeycomb was a really nice touch!) and spa area but not for the rooms. These are more of three star quality. The locations is in a tiny quiet village two km away from Oberstdorf which you can walk to if you want.

Everything about our stay was fantastic! and this coming from someone who doesn’t write reviews. I stayed here with my teenage daughter to enjoy the mountains and it was perfect. It’s about a 20 minute walk into town. Despite my not speaking any German beyond pleasantries, the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We appreciated the complimentary shuttle rides to and from the train station and for a reasonable fee you can book 24 hours in advance for them to take you other places. We most often chose to walk as the weather was cold but beautiful. Beds were super comfy, decent amount of space in room and bathroom was very large. We loved the water heated drying rack in the bathroom. Fantastic for quickly drying wet clothes or swimsuits. We also enjoyed the pool and outdoor sauna. Because of the pandemic they were having you register by family for 30 minute slots. I think in concept it’s a great plan but we noticed many guests didn’t observe it so you still wound up with others in the pool and it’s not all that big, but we were comfortable at one side with a couple at other side. Food was phenomenal. Seriously, incredible! I consider myself a foodie and the food was delicious. Breakfast has a ton of choices and we booked the option where it was included in our room rate. After making our booking we also took them up on the half board option for €10,00 per person per night. It’s double that if you pay to eat dinner there normally. It’s a great value for a 5 course meal where each night you can choose between 2 appetizers, 2 primary entrees or a vegetarian option and the dessert. Whoever the chef is we were impressed; presentation, flavor, all was great.

Perfect location, clean, lots of amenities

The hotel was a very nice Alpine hotel. The breakfast in the morning was so nice. A big selection and very well cooked and prepared. Omelets to order, pancakes, local cheeses, coffee bar and lots more. The options for the kids was so nice. A lovely indoor pool, indoor play gym, games, pool table, air hockey table, outdoor play area. It was very nice touches especially with kids. The views from the balcony were breathtaking. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was helpful and assisted us with the language and provided us ideas to sightsee. The srea is amazing. Hiking, the gorge, the small towns....just perfect. We were very happy with the hotel and our visit to the area.

Location ist really beautiful and spacious room

It's rated a 4 star and yet they don't even provide in the room 1 sachet of instant coffee or a small bottle of water as a welcome trays. No food available at 9pm.

Excellent staff and amazing location! Although this was the first weekend that Bavarian hotels were allowed to open due to Corona, it was still great! Amazing views of the mountains!

Alcoholic drinks were pretty expensive...€9 Euros for a glass of wine with dinner.

Wohlfühlurlaub im Winter

Wir hatten einen sehr gelungenen Winterurlaub in diesem Familienhotel und waren rundum zufrieden. Das Essen war sehr lecker, abwechslungsreich und es war für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Unser Zimmer war groß, geräumig und jederzeit sauber, sodass wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt haben. Die familiäre Atmosphäre hat den Aufenthalt zusätzlich besonders angenehm gemacht.

Die Verkehrsanbindung war nicht ganz optimal, da nur einmal pro Stunde ein Bus fuhr, was jedoch den insgesamt sehr positiven Eindruck kaum getrübt hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen

Das essen im allgemeinen war sehr gut Die Umgebung wunderschön, wir konnten zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus alles erreichen. Das Wellness Angebot fand auch großen Anklang.

Das Frühstücksbuffet und Abendessen(teils Buffet) war spitze! Gute Qualität, gute Auswahl. Zimmer waren ruhig, Lage auch. Sofort sm Wanderweg gelegen, um nach Oberstdorf oder zum Rubihorn/Nebelhorn zu wandern. Zum Abschied bekamen wir ein Brot, Kräutersalz und ein Wasser geschenkt, was ganz praktisch war, da wir zu Hause kein Brot mehr hatten. Sehr große Sauna und schöner Ruhebereich. Kostenfreier Parkplatz.

Die Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer bestand nur aus einer harten Bank. Auf den Abbildungen waren allerdings gemütliche Sessel. Der Pool war sehr klein. Da hätte die Gegenstromanlage wirklich Sinn gemacht, diese war allerdings seit einer Woche kaputt. Leider wurde das erst auf mehrmaliges Nachfragen mitgeteilt.

Sehr freundliche Menschen, herrliche Lanschaft, was will man für einen Urlaub mehr? Der Blick auf das sich schließende Tal in Oberstdorf hat sich immer wieder neu gezeigt. Wir sind restlos zufrieden.
