Cute and quirky with a charming owner in a great location.

The hotel is located in the old town near the Piazza Grande. There are plenty of restaurants and a supermarket nearby. It takes less than 15 minutes to walk to the lake or the station and the nearest bus stop is about 5 minutes away. The owner is charming and despite each of us not being fluent in the other's language we managed to communicate quite well. My room was clean and comfortable with some quirky decor and I was lucky enough to have 2 balconies. I also enjoyed the treats I found on returning to my room after a day out.

Simple nice hotel with super location right in heart of the Locarno old city.

Really great location in the old city of Locarno, close to Piazza Grande, shopping, and restaurants. Quiet street. Piazza Castello bus stop is nearby. Pretty courtyard. Friendly owner. Very clean. Simple but comfortable. The add-on breakfast was very good if a little pricey.

The room was rather cold, though we had enough warm blankets. The owner did not tell us at check-in that the credit card machine was broken. It was not a big deal to get some cash to pay, but, if I had waited to pay at check-out, rather than the day before, I might have had trouble making my train. Note that there is no elevator.

Very good.

The communication with the hotel owner was very fluid at all times. We did not have much contact in person on-site but they were great. Location is perfect, right next to the Piazza Grande. The hotel is very cute and cosy. Very relaxing to sit on the terrace.

The beds were okay in terms of comfort but they were so squeaky that it sometimes woke us up in the middle of the night when we moving in the bed. I would consider changing those to something slightly more silent.

Great accommodation in the old city of Locarno

- very friendly and flexible staff, always available (Giacometti family) - very green, lots of lovely plants around - cleanliness, daily housekeeping - spacious room, with 2 balconies, the one facing the interior garden having a small table and chairs - great location, in the middle of the old city, close to everything, yet in a quiet area - late check-in possibility - Ticino Ticket, covering the whole duration of the stay and providing free access to public transport in the entire canton All in all, clean, cozy and central, good value for the money!

- toilet, a bit small and having a rather useless door (no privacy) - WiFi reception was not very reliable, could not use it for work, otherwise good for occasional browsing - bed slates squeak at each turn, ear plugs highly recommended for sensitive sleepers

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, wenn die Sache mit dem Badezimmer nicht gewesen wäre.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut und wurde in einem wunderschönen Innenhof serviert. Die Lage ist sehr zentral. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer war sauber.

Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer, von dem direkt das Badezimmer abging ( s. Foto) und es hier lediglich eine durchsichtige Schiebetür gab, die sich aber auch nicht richtig schließen ließ.

Ein Badetuch für zwei Tage ist ausreichend, besser wären zwei gewesen.

Familiäre Unterkunft mit liebevoll eingerichteten kleineren Zimmern.

Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Der Innenhof, wo das Frühstück eingenommen wurde, war richtig familiär. Das angebotene Frühstück war frisch und reichhaltig. Für jeden war etwas Gutes dabei.

Für ältere Menschen, die nicht gut zu Fuss sind, ist diese Location nicht zu empfehlen. Es müssen einige Treppen bis zu den Zimmern bewältigt werden.
